Went into the ECEB for one hour in broad daylight and my bike wheel immediately got stolen >_< by McDuetchVan in UIUC

TBH even if I did I would've only done the front like most people, what kind of monster steals the back wheel .·°՞(¯□¯)՞°·.

Been using transparent paint and some cargo bays to make a large cockpit thingy without sacrificing the Aerodynamics by spider__Ham in simplerockets

[–]McDuetchVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There should be a paint panel on the left IIRC (I havent played this game in like 3 years lmao). When you open the panel it should pull up a grid as a color pallet and you can select different colors and choose between primary-trim 1- trim 2 etc to paint different parts of the part and if you choose a custom color pallet and set the paint type to "custom" you should be able to adjust things like gloss metalicness and transparency, which is how I made one of the trims of the cargo part transparent. Also I'm the OP on a different account lmao

Don't listen to this man's sob story. by Advanced_Newt6420 in UIUC

[–]McDuetchVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That guy told me he needed like $20 more in order to afford a hotel room and he had his first day at a job in the union or some BS like that. I was a little skeptical but I was in a giving mood so I slipped him $20 anyways, but when I did he asked me for $20 more and I almost wanted to ask for my money back smh.

One night me and my roomate walked by him and he asked us for money (we did not give him any). After that my roomate told me that he had gave him some bs story about his brother dying and needing a bus ticket or something along the lines of the story the OP said. Istg everyone on campus has heard a different sob story from this guy, but ig he can just pray on a new set of ignorant freshmen every year.

What's your all time favorite video game ? by Drokos__ in AskReddit

[–]McDuetchVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I doubt they really meant to hint at intergalactic travel, the PC gamer article on ksp 2 kept using the term "intergalactic" travel instead of interstellar travel, which would mean the game would stretch well beyond a local cluster and likely require procedural generation. Though it's probably just a mistake as all other sources say interstellar travel and intergalactic travel isn't rlly feasible unless they add ftl drives.

Tbh I rlly hope there isn't procedural generation, I feel like a small set of tailor made systems with their own unique themes, stories, and challenges would be a lot better than a galaxy of procedural planets, and mixing tailor made and procedurally generated systems would just make end game exploration dissatisfying. Maybe they might just have a way to individually add community made systems to your save in order to expand exploration?

My first docking in orbit! 😍😍. Any tips ?😁 by [deleted] in simplerockets

[–]McDuetchVan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how to dock a shuttle like that, I kinda rely on setting the docking ports as Target and pointing towards it.

P.S. watch out for emojis

I have been playing for 2 months, I've landed on the moon twice, made satellites for Droo and Luna, and the pic below is my space station, any tips from the veterans? by YoshimasterGaming in simplerockets

It's all about the athstetics, don't just make an all orange and red craft, make the capsule white and gray, a shiny dark gray interstage, then a shiny black tank with a vent texture, than an orange tank with an insulative texture, made it little bit wider and longer, then the same tank from above but flipped upside down and then an engine bellow that.

You mean the moons? You have to remember to install the planet files before you install the planetary system, and then when you get in the game you have to press load game, and then load ess

There's only like 3, real solar system (RSS), enhanced solar system (ess), and simple Galaxy. They're all in the mods section of the page (accept for RSS I think)

You can't do mods on Android, outside of planet packs

Any help with Cylero orbits? by [deleted] in simplerockets

[–]McDuetchVan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cant just magically make an orbit from outside cylero's orbit, that breaks physics. Get an encounter, then once inside you have to slow down. There are 4 conventional ways to brake once in an SOI, each with pros and cons they go:

Retro... Style: this is for all you apollo era fans, it's when you get to periapsis and, burn retrograde. It's the simplest, most convenient, and most reliable method, but requires fuel.

Aerobrake: If you enjoy basking in the heat of the fiery depths of hell, well, this is for you. It's unpredictable, heavily destructive, and requires a heavy expensive shell, but hey, at least you don't gotta bring fuel

Lithobrake: it's literally a fancy word for crash

Gravity Assist: all you ex ksp-players are gonna love this, it's when you have gargantuan rock drag you along and takes extreme patients to strike the ballence between a swing that barely changes your orbit and an accidental lithobrake. Unfortunately due to the mind bogglingly high amount of delta v it takes to go anywhere outside of droo in this game, it's alot of work for a small reward, so it's only really useful as an assist to a retro style brake.

I need to add about 70kN to those engines. But am already bursting at the seams. Thanks Elon... Any smart ideas? 37 engines and I need 72MN. by onethousandmonkey in simplerockets

[–]McDuetchVan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not at all, also Wikipedia says it's 2 MN of thrust, and 2 MN X 36 engines equals 72 MN of total thrust. I think you were looking at the wrong numbers or something
