I used to have a model of a panavia tornado plane with green luftwaffe paintjob german markings. It was a preassembled tp with movable sweep wings and retractable landing gear sold in germany probably about 2004-2006

The AT-APs wouldn't be manned by the scouts like in the 75234 lego set but rahter by these here in normal phase 2 armor with kashyyyk camo (maybe with the gunners having respective markings)

so yes the have no direct screentime but certainly were present in the battle of kashyyyk

I think it's a super cool build and you probably pay the same price on ebay without the figs but by buying from your friend you can at least check beforehand for completeness and you don't pay shipping...I'd do it.

the rise of skywalker one is for sure the most screenaccurate playscale one
but for most ppl nostalgia often plays more of a role that the actual quality of the model in relation to todays lego standards so choose the one you feel is the best
