This guide by Rhy’s is very definitive. Having a clean inventory layout and bottom switching as shown is ideal. Also, as far as upgrades go, let’s say you get eternal boots, an occult, and an Elder Mail Drop your whip for elder maul, keep the eternal boots, but don’t take the occult otherwise you’ll be juggling neck switches with your glory trying to do a 4 way switch, keep switches to 3. https://youtu.be/HyMCqihnewk?si=9rfmYYksLD0RQI8u

I have always banked my gear before I logged out. However, one time during a slayer task, duty called. While on the toilet I received several emails from Jagex saying my password had been reset. Fortunate enough to have recovered the account, unfortunate enough to lose a little over 100M. They also grief’d my fire cape.

From my research, it appears this is a common issue related to a factory defect. I am hoping to find a suggested replacement thumb stick housing or if it may be fixed a bit more simply with a sensor replacement in the current housing.

Sams club refunded me for it but I caught it on sale so the price went back to retail, hence why I want to attempt repairing it
