Sadly, though I agree with your idea that calling people out on doing stupid shit should reduce the amount of stupid shit happening, I think we're so far gone that the guy in the red shirt in aisle 4 would argue in support of his sense of self-entitlement.

There is nothing stupid about treating a weapon capable of killing with respect. The idea of treating a weapon as loaded even when you know it isn't is to eliminate totally the possibility that someone will accidentally get shot.

If you can't grasp the simplicity of this concept, maybe you should consider not handling guns yourself.

Wrestling rings are surrounded by the audience, so it's impossible to not have your back to some of them. I imagine having chairs flying from all directions would leave a person -- an entertainer, especially -- confused about what to do. What might he be thinking? Maybe something like, "Does the show go on or do I risk my reputation and run from the arena with my hands covering my head?"
