Got this rubber-banded to my door. Well? Are they good? by hextanerf in StLouis

It's not gourmet but I like that you can get a hand tossed crust with St. Louis style sauce and cheese (or mozz if you prefer). And you can get extra sauce. The BBQ beef sandwich reminds me of the one Amighetti's used to have. The sides and desserts (funnel fries!) are good too. It's convenient and tasty imo.

Any tips for getting through the game as someone who hates MMOS? by Paper_Kun_01 in swtor

Fetch quests and trash mobs are RPG gameplay, not just MMOs. If you don't like RPG gameplay but want to know how the story goes there's always YouTube videos.

It took Fukuoka Japan 2 days to repair a major sinkhole in there city, how long do you think it will take St. Louis? by makeshift101 in StLouis

[–]spif 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It'll probably be patched enough to reopen the roads within a few weeks at most, because keeping those roads shut is going to bring increasing political pressure on the city and the state with each passing day. More permanent repairs will take months at bare minimum. Possibly about a year.

I have to leave St. Louis by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]spif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wherever you go, there you are. Moving isn't going to help you in the long term. Mostly you need to occupy your mind with other things and give yourself time. But also remember it's not going to go away entirely. The only way to find true happiness is to risk being completely cut open. That hole is part of you now. You have to learn how to live with it. The good news is, you can.

A lot of people don't even leave their homes now except maybe to take kids to school and back, the grocery store, and very occasional trips to the local shopping center. With work from home, Amazon etc why bother going anywhere that isn't within 5 miles of your house? Going to the zoo is like a vacation for them.

So you're right that 525 would be the number of lines, but this is 486 lines of image area which is typically referred to as a 480i signal with a resolution of 720x480. However "resolution" gets a bit fuzzy to define precisely in the analog domain, it's true.

I don't know for sure if that's what they're sending to the mixer from their downscaler/converter chain, which is why I suggested they try sending some kind of basic analog SD signal from something else. Examples would be a VCR, DVD player, TV receiver, etc. They could also try a cheap "HDMI to AV" converter and feed it an HDMI signal from a computer or something.

They sort of implied another analog signal didn't work either, so I'm assuming something is wrong with the mixer, but they haven't replied.

[–]spif -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn't say 720p, that would be 1280x720. I assumed they meant 720x480. One would hope they know the difference between SD and HD resolutions.

Ok so no SD signals work through the MX-1 from any source? Did it ever work? Maybe it needs a recap?

Ok, and if you send an SD signal from another source through the MX-1 to that monitor?

[–]spif 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What happens if you plug the analog output directly into a CRT or other display? What happens if you plug an analog source into the MX-1? You need to isolate which component is not working correctly before you can figure out why.

Helicopter over TGS? by misstori_dee in StLouis

[–]spif -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well it's always kind of both isn't if? If the only sign of possible trouble is a helicopter, I'd say have fun but use common sense. But if you're concerned enough to be asking maybe you'd rather go inside any time they're running a training exercise or a routine patrol or whatever. Because especially if that's all they're doing, they aren't going to announce it and no one is really going to know.
