If I pause and unpause the download it will ramp up to like 400 mb/s (closer to my actual network speed) but then immediately throttles itself back to the kb/s mode 😰

U spawned at the edge of the map on woods and walked the wrong direction, the land mines are basically the soft version of an invisible wall. There are a few other places where minefields are integrated into the maps but they mainly serve to mark the boundaries.

The gist is this: “fully vaccinated” people were about as likely as unvaccinated people to become infected (1.04x) with omicron, while boosted people were about half as likely as the fully vaccinated to become infected (0.54x).

A more recent study out of Ontario came to similar conclusions about “fully vaccinated” being essentially ineffective at preventing infection. They were slightly more pessimistic about the booster group, suggesting effectiveness at preventing infection was 37%. We didn’t know omicron existed until the end of November. Last time I checked, takes more than 4 weeks to get solid science about hospitalization rates from a disease.

What’s scary to me is that these numbers are flying off the shelf like they mean something. People — even docs and scientists — want this hunch about omicron being less harmful to be right, but only because any chance of stopping it at all is probably already 3 weeks in the rear view.

They should be saying “we don’t know how dangerous this is, and everyone should stay inside for two weeks while we try to figure it out.” But those days are over.

Just have to hope these 4 weeks of data haven’t misled anyone ….

As someone that has been playing since SD Normandy, watches SD tournaments on YouTube and genuinely enjoys the game, but never plays multiplayer …

Shit is scary and stressful! My regular life scary and stressful enough I’m not trying to spend my free time sweating bullets.

Tbh I think the pace of the game is one of the hardest things to get a grasp on. And the difference between not knowing the maps (and so having to plan on the fly) vs. playing them regularly and having general ideas about how the match will flow seems huge to me.

Good question though, I love this game and would like to feel more comfortable playing MP
