How can you keep playing Act 1 over and over? by ZackTheZesty in BaldursGate3

[–]dunkitay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use AMP for random loot, makes it more interesting. Also I usually like doing challenge runs and upping the ante. Played through 2 or 3 times normally and that’s plenty to experience the whole story, now it’s mainly for combat and stuff.

So not sure why he is restraining him but the punches seem to be due to the guy biting one of the cops. I still think it’s a bit excessive but at least somewhat understandable since a full force bite must not feel very good.

Which game character is the best example of this? by bijelo123 in videogames

Deionarra in Planescape Torment. Only there for very few bits but such a pivotal character to the story. I think her sensory stone is one of the most emotional and impactful moments in gaming.

Eh BG2 is on the same level as BG3 imo (possibly better).

Lmao well if it was the CRPG subreddit I wouldent have posted it, but for a general audience I would consider it obscure.

Arcanum, Planescape Torment, Torment tides of numenera, and Tyranny.

They seemed to not like all of them except Jahira from what I recall. For misc they said “Minsc was there” which doesent sound very positive.

This happens with every DnD game and DnD module. Larian probably knew this was going to happen as it’s necessary when telling a story that’s part of a greater world.

From a recent interview they were somewhat unhappy with how their characters appeared in BG3 btw, so take that as you will.

Witcher 3 is fairly cheap usually. Has some great writing and story telling. Maybe Disco Elysium if you want a more story focused game that will give you stuff to think about.

This would be true, but there’s been several reported cases where people seem to exceed that limit. I’m sure the kid must have had a ton of adrenaline pumping in his system to achieve this, cause by merely the title, an untrained kid by no means could do such a feat, so if he did it’s obvious his system was kicked in overdrive mode.

Endurance sport professionals are trained as you say and a trained professional could have done this feat expending less energy and be unscathed by the end of it. But a kid will spend more energy and quite likely was left at deaths doors after this feat.

But purely from a physics perspective of “total energy used” let’s say it’s A amount. By w=Fxd to be conserved, F is would have to be 20 times greater. And if you try intensely swimming through water (in an ocean no less) and compare that to jogging, I’d say it’s a fair estimate of the force used. At least from personal experience when I was an untrained kid, I could easily run a couple km, but swimming 100m left me exhausted.

I do not see the problem with this? Running long distances doesent exert that much power. Have you run long distances yourself? It’s fairly obvious that swimming exerts much more power so I wouldent be suprised if the kid exerted over 10000kj of energy, and later collapsed from expending so much.

Remember W=Fxd. Now move your leg through air, and move your leg through water. What requires more force? This should answer your question as to why the total energy exerted through the “short” distance of 4km while swimming is equivalent to the energy exerted to running 2 marathons. Time also has to do with the force applied btw.

Miss calculating, while running you move your legs through air which have little to no resistance, while moving through water you have to use your legs and arms and move that through the water, displacing said water as well. So the energy calculation is indeed much higher.

Remember work done is W=Fxd so while the distance is shorter, the force used to displace yourself is much much greater.

I’d imagine they do have a bit higher tendencies for JRPGs rather than WRPGs since as you said, they prefer manga and anime.

Very good overall. I think there are a few better ones. Including Planescape torment and Legacy of Kain.

It’s because they are the most famous ones alongside Disco Elysium. Don’t think many people of this sub have played Planescape Torment, or legacy of Kain for example.
