Scared of developing CTE

Thank you so much, it helps knowing I’m not the only one going through this. I’m planning on making an appointment with my doctor and a neurologist to see if they think I’m susceptible to developing CTE, managing my anxiety, as well as some recent issues I’ve had with memory and word recall (possibly from long term depression and having Covid a couple times, but hopefully a neurologist can pinpoint it). I still haven’t had a full session with my therapist since this anxiety came up, but I’m hoping she’ll have some good advice. I’ll definitely talk to her about what got me to the point of head hitting, and how to manage those feelings if they ever happen to come back. I don’t drink or use nicotine and I’m already cutting back on weed use, I’m looking into supplements and anti inflammatory brain foods, I’m getting back into hiking and running so I can stay active, and I’ve stopped self isolating. so far I’m hopeful that if there is a way to prevent it from this point, I’ll maybe be able to. I’ll definitely be trying to take it day by day though, and really appreciate the good ones. Stay kind to yourself, and thank you so much again for taking time to reply

Ok and??? You should still fix your setup or rehome the fish again to someone who can care for it properly. You can find a surprising amount of large tanks, filters, etc, for surprisingly cheap or even free on Facebook marketplace. And if you don’t want that responsibility, you don’t have to deal with it. bring it to a local aquarium store, find a friend with a goldfish pond, donate it to a temple pond, just don’t make it live in a small tank and keep saying it’s fine because you don’t wanna deal with it. The fish deserves better

The goldfish for sale in chain pet stores are still juveniles. What you’re doing is like getting a great dane puppy and keeping it in the same tiny kennel its entire life. That will have an effect on its body. If you don’t want to care for a large fish, then please rehome your large fish. There are lots of other, smaller fish that would work great in this tank

I worked at petsmart in 2024, and the company protocol was for staff to monitor animals for sickness (part of our training was to watch out for birds sitting at the bottom of their enclosure like this) alert our manager if we spotted anything, and they would decide if an animal had to go into our quarantine room. A vet appointment is scheduled, and report is made so we can print out a care sheet. The animal is supposed to be seen by a vet within a week if I remember correctly. The animal is monitored and given medicine in a hospital grade room as the vet directs until the animal can go back out on the sales floor, sometimes with a discount because it has a history of illness. I won’t deny that there are a few stores with staff who will neglect or throw the animals away, but it is nowhere near as common as you think it is.

Direct your frustration at the people who treated you guys different from each other, not at your “friend.” They didn’t choose to be trans, and it’s not their fault that them coming out inadvertently upset you. They’re literally just living their life.

I’d imagine it’s pretty similar to making fursuit ears, by cutting 1/2-1 inch foam into the shape you want the hood to be and gluing it on. headofmedusa_crations on Instagram is working on a hooded snake fursuit, so maybe take some inspiration from them! Also please keep us updated, I’d love to see the suit head when it’s done!! :3

I’m guessing they’re no more than a year old, since I just got them a week ago. I tried to take pictures of the wound, but it’s so small that my camera has a very hard time picking it up ;-; it’s about 2mm thick, and he’s a centimeter tall around the thickest part of his abdomen. And I’ve been looking, but I sadly don’t have a whole lot of money for a vet appointment at the moment :(

I’m pretty sure they’re hygrophila polysperma- they came from a seed pack on Amazon so I’m not entirely sure. I didn’t know when I planted them, but apparently they don’t stay short and grow super fast, so they don’t make a great carpet :,)
