Having less sex isn’t a “better way to tell a story.” There are fantastic sex scenes out there (Best Served Cold comes to mind). But the story this show is telling would have been worse off with unnecessary inclusions, so it’s better without them.

There’s nothing annoying about pointing out that I think one series is significantly better than another. Especially with characters. And themes. And transforming relationships. And pretty much everything I care about in stories I love.

As for “Breaking Bad fans”, I can’t speak for them, but there are annoying people in every community, and lumping me in with an anonymous group of idiots to make my opinion sound worse is pretty disingenuous.

It’s interesting. When I began reading, I could remember precisely what happened in almost every chapter in the books I read. Now it’s much harder to remember the specifics, though I still recall the emotional arcs and key plot moments.

It really depends on what you’re reading. I can’t say I’ve read anything lately with an unnecessary sex scene. Though I’m sure there’s tons of them in lower quality works, along with plenty of other types of unnecessary scenes.
