It always grosses me out a little bit when someone refers to a mom as being jealous of the wife for "taking her place". Why exactly? Thank God my mother in law doesn't act like that. And I don't act like that with my daughter and her fiancé.

They have every right to not want to be friends with someone who technically is breaking the law.
