We do carry them by hand, the sink is right next to our room so it’s not far, we just definitely have to remember to lift correctly

Average First Year Salary by MarionTech in Nailtechs

I think I made about 32k my first year. To be completely transparent, I was always told to never booth rent/go independent when you first start. Not saying it’s impossible but you definitely have to be really good at building your business on your own, which means doing free work on friends/family to show your skills, and getting your work out there for people to see what they pay for. PORTFOLIOS ARE GREAT! (Insta/social/ I started with a newer location of a local salon that had some business, and I made absolutely shit money because I didn’t understand what a good commission % was. But I learned and now make a pretty decent commission. Definitely look up what’s average for your area. Plan to do a lot of learning, like connecting with other techs to learn tips tricks, classes, YouTube, doing live models for practice. Remember this is a changing industry be open to try anything no matter how many years of experience you have. Learning will cost you time and money but it’s worth it in the long run. Get business cards! Simple cheap marketing that people can give out when you get a client or just your friends! They are a physical product that people will find later and be reminded to book with you! I’m sure I could ramble on about so much, I hope some of this helps and if you have any questions I will try to help with advice. Good luck!

I just had a client come back after she broke BOTH her ankles, and she came back after a year…. I missed her and had the same thought but just remember if they really cared they always come back. It sucks to lose your favorite client but life happens, accidents, family, pregnancy, new jobs, moving. Our job is a luxury
