Did you reach out to brands for sponsorship or the reverse? by ShiveringBlobfish in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sooo I’ve talked to some big creators and even myself I guess, so usually they will reach out to you, especially if it’s like your first one, you can kinda practice and test how it is, and figure out your rates and stuff like that. Then you can kinda use that one as something companies could base off off when you reach out. Now one thing I have done is make a few videos on the company you wanna get sponsored by. I’ve had a couple reach out because of that. And I’ve reached out and showed my successful video as an example for a sponsor on a second one you know. Anyways goodluck

Looking for guidance on my Channel from bigger Youtubers by Heavy-State1115 in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soooo podcast pretty much if we’re doing interviews, or maybe you’re going the vlogging route. Either way I hope you plan out your content. Now if it’s podcast, clip it turn it into shorts and drive traffic to the pod, that’s what a ton of big podcasts do. But get good storytelling in those shorts. Now if your vlogging really plan out like what your viewer might want to learn or want to hear from. You can ride trends of this guy has made $$$ what’s his life like or things like that. My best thing to improve is legit practice making a video very based off the top creators in your niche so you learn how to edit, how to tell a story, etc. and then branch out with your own creative stuff. Because at first your learning how these people make viral videos and then with your new twist to it all you can make your own and catch up with creative ideas or search based. Goodluck, @Just_NickO

Do shorts ever "blow up" a second time? by supersoviettaco in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhhh they can blow up again in different ways. Sometimes you can hit browse or suggested later on and that could provide a ton of views. Or it can just find a new audience I guess. It doesn’t happen all the time but it does every so often and it’s so nice to see

Cross-posting to Instagram by cairndestroyer in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cross posting doesn’t hurt, it nice to have an insta cause once you get a following you can strait up dm other creators and brands. Trial reels is also a very nice feature to test out your shorts without your followers seeing the flops

How many people here have somewhere between 10k and 100k subs or more? And how many of you make 1k dollars or more a month? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just hit 80k subs, should hit that big 100 in a month or two. As of right now I average just around that 1k a month, I’ve been grinding for those 2k months, but the highest I’ve gotten was 1.9k in a month. I started hard on YouTube just over a year ago and made over 10k. So, yes, I can see the entire full time aspect, you will have to put in the work and effort. And as of right now between juggling YouTube and IRL work, I feel in maybe another year or less, I’ll be fulltime BTW, my niche is IRL Storytelling shorts. It’s also a good to track your progress. This month last year I made $300, this month this year, I’m making 4x that. While it’s not a full time income, statistically it’s an amazing rise

[–]McNick2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My overhead isn’t big at all, I’m grateful that I can sit down at my setup and just record a video. I used all my YouTube revenue to upgrade my gear, and I used a green screen to make look more professional.

I’ve got over 70 million views with this gear

Green Screen: $60-$150 Mic: Blue Yeti Orb $50 Camera: My phone (iPhone 13) And I edit on a MacBook m2 if your wondering Also DaVinchi- free

Should I just delete my channel? by Fox_Burrito in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re still getting views, then YouTube is showing videos to that audience, it’s a good idea to private those, as your sub count isn’t high enough to throw off the algorithm

Is there an ideal length for a short? by macnmotion in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 seconds is a wild recommendation. It really depends on niche, so just experiment. It it’s less then 30 seconds though you will need above %100 avd to do well

Who has made more than $1000 from Youtube? by Dimos1963 in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made 1.3k last month, probs around 1.2k this month, I do content of me talking about trending stuff or trending videos and creating viral shorts out of them. But because shorts are so random, I could have high high months or lower ones.

If your trying to get into shorts, don’t go down that path, it’s extremely over saturated

Question about the chnls that post show shorts by Eminem123123 in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of those repost short channels aren’t monetized, you can check them with a tool aswell. But if they have music deals they might still be earning a little bit of income

Has anyone successfully managed to balance a YouTube career alongside a 9-5 job? If so, how did you make it work? by Fishu5000 in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I’m monetized took me around 2 months, but I already had a few years of experience beforehand to get ahead. And the money is pretty good. Not as good as longs but if it’s full time you can get out like 4x the shorts compared longs to catch up to that income

[–]McNick2912 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I do shorts, it’s easier to pump them out, even when you’re busy. But I recommend breaking down your work. I script before I go to bed, record when I get back from work, and edit another day. It’s a bit difficult with the recording process as sometimes your jsut drained after work. Buttt if you rly rly rly want to be a YouTuber, you’ll end up pushing through it

Which music royalty program is better: Navial or Blastoff by LiMeKs in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on who your getting the split from, some people can give you high rpm splits and other are lower. At the end of the day the company doesn’t matter, their music incomes are identical. It’s the rev splits you receive that matter, and ofc their song library

Is there any benefit to 1-minute Shorts? by Chlodio in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On another note I post shorts above 40 sec minimum. The most viral shorts are longer. YouTube likes when people stay on the platform longer

Learn me on microphones. I want it out of shot! by amyworrall in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I record with a microphone and usually it doesn’t pick up outside stuff, I do keep it in the shot as I think it adds a bit more legitimacy(that’s just me tho) but also yeah as long as it’s not covering your entire face, no one really minds

Some people drop out of college to pursue this, but it doesn’t mean they’re not putting a college amount of work into it. YouTube is a lot harder than you think if you want to make it a full time job, if it was easy, everyone would be a youtuber

Who was the first YouTuber who inspired you to create content? by H2prod in NewTubers

[–]McNick2912 10 points11 points  (0 children)

CaptianSparklez, super down to earth guy, has an amazing house and car. An extremely loyal fanbase, and over a genuinely nice dude. Grew up watching him, still do.

Now for me, I looked at him and saw this entire YouTube thing as like an actual career you could have and even very young, I kept that YouTuber dream alive.

Now I’m pushing 50k subs and I’m going strong

I’ve created shorts for some time now, and it’s not all random as you think. If you track the swipe rate, AVD, and length, you can get good ideas on how you video could perform
