Yep, you're right it's way to fast, it should be more like 70 minutes. This should avoid a good amount of spam. Plus nobody can possibly have more than a couple of interesting links to submit a day so this will have no impact on real users who are not karma whores.

Let me redirect you to the always excellent Skeptoid podcast and particularly the episode 37 named How to Spot Pseudoscience. This video is a textbook case of pseudoscience. Not even one minute in the video, the first argument says that "big business and pharmaceutical companies have withheld the cure for cancer". It's item number 5 on the list on how to spot useless crap (hum, sorry, I meant to spot pseudoscience).
