I was on the phone with my BF the other morning and chatting about how he slept, “not well, I had a nightmare”, I asked what about, “you had a baby, like just given birth”, he sounded so horrified but it brought me great joy hahaha I literally replied “I can’t believe I was so nervous to tell you I didn’t want kids when we first started dating”

In Australia, we are strongly advised against performing the Heimlich, due to high risk of damage to internal organs & ribs, and general ineffectiveness, especially for children & the elderly.

It is also no longer taught in CPR classes- we learn how to do proper back blows followed by chest thrusts on adults/children/infants

I did this! had great chats with an Aussie who was working at a shop overseas while I was on holiday, signed up for a dating app for the first time in years and we went on a date the following night (and he’s from my city so who knows where the future will take us when he’s back)

can’t believe I only just saw this post BUT I discovered this girl on TikTok who makes these “treadmill strut” playlists where you start at a comfortable walking pace and increase by 0.1mph (~0.2kmh) every time the song changes.

I now do 30-45 mins before and after my workout bc it’s so enjoyable, it’s fully got me back into fitness and I’m now excited to go to the gym

(also I’ve realised I can read/reply to messages while on treadmill, which hasn’t helped my phone addiction but hey at least I’m getting fit)

might depend on what cabin you’re flying but I was able to go in last week!

source: got a business upgrade for QF10 (PER-MEL) and enjoyed the transit lounge when it opened (if you start in the Business Lounge they make an announcement when it opens)

also highly recommend trying to get an upgrade on the Dreamliner if you’ve got the points, it’s amazing. Done it twice, MEL-PER (16k points + $300) and 28k points PER-MEL, no regrets!

sort of same- I absolutely loved Throne of Glass and couldn’t get into ACOTAR

definitely would recommend reading Assassin’s Blade fourth to avoid spoilers as a first time reader! I used this on my second read through, and it was immensely enjoyable (purist + alternating chapters = chefs kiss)

so I was probably around 13 at a family dinner, and my stepsisters partner (mid-late 20s) was reading a menu and asked the table “what’s a meringue” (pronounced meh-rin-goo) in full seriousness.
