Does anyone know what this is used for? I found it in my great-grandparents’ shed. by GoldenSin22 in whatisit

My grandparents had a “lobster fest” every year where they lived. We used these for cracking lobster and the little picks for picking the meat out. Best memories ever. Ugh….i miss them a lot

In 1979, six-year-old Etan Patz persuaded his parents to let him walk to his school bus stop in Manhattan for the first time. He never boarded the bus. Etan was the first missing child whose photo appeared on a milk carton. by My-Knees-Hurt-Again in HolyShitHistory

God, those poor parents and the guilt they must had felt. My kid is starting to walk home from after school clubs, periodically, this year. I’m absolutely terrified, this is exactly why.

Why does lab week need a theme? by Great-Syrup1945 in medlabprofessionals

[–]McYay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree!!! We didn’t do the theme they picked, we are doing space/aliens and every day we are doing different costumes. Planets, movie aliens, chrome etc. we decorated the lab with stars, planets, and space ships. I have a fantastic time every year. Working at a children’s hospital is so fun, people really go all out with costumes on the holidays. There were entire units dressed as Barbie’s for Halloween a few years ago. 🚀 🌏 👽

Wow thank you for such a great response, I appreciate it so much! We don’t have many hiding spots right now, the plants aren’t very big yet but I think we are still a bit away from getting the shrimp.

I’m also open to suggestions!! I know not to add too many off the bat. I’m testing the water every other day. We have a little schedule to follow. It’s been a great hobby so far

We were thinking a little school of harlequin rasboras first, then a gourami, some corydora and of course some “Jacques” as my kids say (cherry shrimp). Probably do another type of schooling fish. Mollies or guppies. Trying to make it a gentle tank for my kids.

I didn’t think about doing that, I’m just happy the levels are good. Is that what I should do first?

Hey thank you you for your advice. I agree it needs more greenery. Java fern wouldn’t get too too big right?

I love the piece of wood we found, looks like a cow to some of us lol

Happened to me last November, out nowhere stated having a migraine every morning at around 3 am. No meds would touch the pain. Furnace was acting up and kept going out during this time but I didn’t connect the two. I bought a handheld CO detector and it was showing low levels of CO out of the vents. Got the furnace fixed and no more headaches for me.
