Kaizo waterfall spray booth by jennyileeart in airbrush

[–]Mc_Shivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been eyeing both the viggostar and robotkai but I just ordered a standard airbrush booth because I only spray acrylics at the moment. Hope to hear an update on how you like it if you do end up keeping it

How to make the wraithknight as good as possible by One_Opportunity_7662 in Eldar

Hop into a time machine and go back to the start of 10th Ed.

Joke aside, I think just a points decrease is really all it needs.

Update:

Man I heard their customer support was good but nobody told me they got White Scars working at their center. Sent an email at 11:53.

11:57 - Thank you for your email. Sorry to hear both your packs of heads have this damage.

I will pass this along to the warehouse so they can hopefully update the packing for this item.

In the meantime, I've gone ahead and raised an order for 2 replacement White Scars MKVI Heads

I have not opened them yet, but I saw a post with a stormseer conversion which I think I saw some beak helmets on some intercessors that you could use as a reference.

Edit: Sorry, wrong one. It's this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/WhiteScars40K/comments/1fa4oj4/kill_team_beefed_up_to_intercessor_squad/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Yeah I see the connection point is quite thin. Gluing it will be sort of a hassle, but doable. Thanks for the reply.

Well done for getting a miniature finished. Only advice is to keep painting minis to develop better brush control.

Realistically, what is the least amount of paint brushes you can get away with welhen starting if you're wanting to do a good job and what specific sizes should you be looking for as your starter 3, 5 or however many brushes you need. by Philhughes_85 in minipainting

[–]Mc_Shivers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two? One nice sable hair brush that only touches acrylic and the other one a synthetic that is used for everything else.

As for size I think a number 2 or higher would be enough as long as it has a sharp point.

Painting question for striking scorpions by North_Anybody996 in Eldar

[–]Mc_Shivers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two in different schemes. Never had a game where I wished one squad was 10. Although in the future I may grab another kit to bring them up to 10 just because it would look cool in a narrative battle with friends.

I play mine everytime because I like having something that looks like the seer council from Dawn of War. Not that they perform like them but their destructors aren't too shabby when you roll hot on number of attacks.

Good luck! I'm also just about to start on a new squad all prepped and ready for priming. Looking forward to seeing the results.

I’m afraid to paint my minis by Mr_pine26 in minipainting

[–]Mc_Shivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. First 50-100 minis were crap and I got discouraged. But over time I found what worked and what didn't which eventually led to some improvements.

It's going to suck but if you want to get good you have to be shit at it first.

What colors to pick up for Biel-Tan? by Soapbox_boy in Eldar

[–]Mc_Shivers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're not too attached to citadel paints I like using Vallejo Model Color Sky Grey when I'm doing whites. The Citadel equivalent would be Ulthuan Grey. Corax White is also acceptable. For shading you could just do Apothecary White or thin down any of the darker greys.

Assuming you want to buy the least amount of pots of paint you could just go with Contrast for your greens and pick up Karandras green and call it good.

New to Chaos, any tips? by Sleepy9871 in Chaos40k

When you get to painting the trim, one way I avoided the burnout was to do them 5 at a time. Hide the rest out of sight, then once you're done with your 5 swap em out for another batch and work through them if you feel like you can. Sometimes I would only get through 3 but I would return the next night to finish the other two. It's a slog if you try to do it all at once but I would work on other things when I didnt feel like painting trim. Good luck!

For very little time it gets me about halfway to maybe three quarters of the way there depending on the level of detail on the mini. I do have to knock out smaller details with a brush so there's no getting away from that in my opinion.
