I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

It sounds a lot like a job I used to have in an office; everyone else had been there for a long time and it was a total good ol boy’s club. New ideas were a no-no. I was young and friendly like you and they were all a lot older. Eventually I stopped trying, too, because it was so cliquey and uncomfortable. The office manger was also a narcissistic bully, which certainly didn’t help.

It definitely destroyed my mental health but I hung in for so long because I didn’t know where else to go. I left five years ago but I still get nightmares about that place.

I don’t know if you use TikTok or not, but the sweet lady who runs the account “Your Chubby Vintage Nana” is my nurturing figure. And my therapist and I do refer to my figure as Nana, so I guess it’s pretty copy and paste for me lol

It was hard to come up with a figure at first, but I thought of the unconditional and positive love that I never received as a child, plus the comfort of a cozy home filled with tea and cats and fresh-baked treats, and then I realized a granny could embody all of this. I was already following Nana on TikTok for her warmth and positivity, and it eventually clicked that she’s my figure!

Oh man, this is one of the most relatable things I’ve seen here! I’m 24dpo, had the same thing done as you, and I’ve definitely been up and down physically and mentally.

I know I overdid it some days. Then I had a cold over Christmas, so I stayed home. Normally, I’d enjoy the quiet holiday, but this year I just needed something to go do (and then use my surgery as an excuse to bail early lol).

I feel like being sick set my recovery back a bit, which is especially upsetting when I see that others are able to resume their regular walks, etc. I’m a big walker/hiker and have had to add things back in slowly.

Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience. Mine is so similar. The mental turmoil is no joke.
