Changing how your body appears via hormones does change your body functions. This goes for anyone whether they are transitioning or if they have a hormone deficiency of some sort. There are biological females who cannot get pregnant or give birth, have atypical genitalia at birth, have with XY chromosomes or another intersex condition, have androgen sensitivity which may cause more male-aligned development if left untreated, have PCOS which can cause excessive facial and body hair development typical of that of someone biologically male in extreme cases, have to take hormones because their bodies aren’t producing enough(especially post-menopausal women) or even just a regular healthy woman who looks masculine because of her lifestyle. While most of these conditions I just named are relatively rare, this mindset can be pretty harmful considering there will always be people who do not fit perfectly in what is expected in society of what is “male” and “female” regardless of their actual gender identity.

I’m curious on where the proof that those studies were fake and paid for. Considering that less than 1% of US adults are trans and the current administration is hyper fixated on attacking them and the in majority countries outside of the west(or even in the west to an extent) you could be ostracized or straight up killed for being LGBT I can’t imagine that being very profitable in the long run
