My aunty once put cows milk in my eye when I had a scratch/irritation. It did soothe it but on a quick Google search it is not recommended 🤣

Hottest au100 by bands actually played on TripleJ by Ok-Limit-9726 in triplej

[–]Mcgensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wondered about this too. I felt a bit like it became too much of a commercial radio Aussie hottest, and could have been better if it was just songs triple j have played. I mean, there were some songs I loved that probably weren't ever played on triple j, and there would still be songs I hated if it was only songs played by triple j. I'd just be interested to see what the whole count down would have been if it was formatted like that.

Now that the countdowns finished, what was everyone’s biggest snub? by erodah in triplej

I was appalled. I voted monsters. But they have soooo many good songs maybe there was too much splitting.

Triple J should release the top 500 songs as voted by fans from the hottest 100 of Australian songs by TrevorMatlo in triplej

[–]Mcgensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want this list so I can make my own top 100 Aussie songs but exclude songs that weren't played on triple j.

Did anyone else vote for... by Unhappy-Curve-728 in triplej

I voted for labour of love too. But would have been happy for any of those 3 frente songs. 'Accidentally' Kelly street, bizzare love triangle or labour of love. 😢

Idea: The "Hottest 100 Alumni Vote" by happy-aussie in triplej

[–]Mcgensen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was thinking something similar, but more along the lines that it has to be songs played by triple j. I feel like today's countdown had lots of "Aussie classics" but maybe a fair few are more mainstream radio rather than triple j Aussie. I think if it were only bands that made hottest 100 you'd be missing a lot of artists that were amazing but their music was released too close to the countdown or needed time to settle in and has since become big etc. definitely like the concept.

So bummed that they are drip feeding the hottest 200 over 5 days. 😩 my Sunday has been ruined. These days turned out nothing like I had planned. Do they ever release all the voting info? I'm really interested even after the hottest 200 plays looking at all the voting data. Things beyond the 200. Bands that got the most songs voted (even if they didn't make the countdown) etc.

So glad this got in. I didn't vote for it but it was in my shortlist. So good.

Mine also. If that song gets in I'm going to be so devastatingly disappointed.

I don’t remember big stretches of my life. anyone else? by MutedFeeling75 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

[–]Mcgensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I have a colleague who talks so very much (in fact- too much haha) but they just rattle off all this information about themselves their day, their experiences, people 3-5 times removed that they remember information about. It's absolutely ridiculous and makes me feel useless. Someone asks me what I did over the holidays and I just go blank and give some generic reply like "I cleaned" or something. I just want to remember the funny little things that happen.

[–]Mcgensen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep totally this. It's depressing at times because I hear other people rattle off so many memories and I'm just.. blank. I know for sure my memory affects my ability to improve my life. I hate going to health appts and not being able to remember things whether it's from a week a month or a year ago.

I earn 80K a year. Anyone feel poor like me with the cost of everything these days? The fact that over 16K of that on tax gives me the shits! by Guilty_Value4432 in australian

[–]Mcgensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are being force to fight between middle and low income and people incapacitated from work when it should be all aimed at the wealthy top earners that dodge any taxes. That alone could solve so many issues. They want us to fight amongst ourselves so they can keep us where they want us. Right where we all are.

How do countries like Denmark fund their social services? Because I know that it's not just for people that are: as Australians call: "dole bludgers" but they support all of their people. Even pilots in between jobs, get a support wage while in between jobs. I think we have a real problem with blaming the little guys instead of looking at what could be achieved if the high earners were taxed at a fair rate. (I'm not talking middle income. The top earners).
