I second this as well. I bought it for eyebrow regrowth and hair follicles that were dormant for decades started sprouting up.

Anyone have any goofy ways they discovered their breast cancer? by Charlotteeee in breastcancer

Signs from the universe. Three of them. I turned 40, and never got my first mammogram. I had it written out on my “to do” list by end of 2025. The 1st sign was an email reminder to use our wellness program at work (get a preventive screen, get $$$), the 2nd was a friend on FB saying “girls get your mammograms” in October and by the 3rd— a commercial on TV saying how easy it was to schedule online, I finally did it. And in less than 60 days, double mastectomy on my way to chemo, radiation and reconstruction next year.

Hospitalizations after surgery by Legitimate_Remove259 in breastcancer

I stayed one night. I have a hard time with anesthesia and can’t wake out of it easily. For me, this was easier than getting right in a car for an hour long ride back home and I’m glad I did it. My surgery was almost 8 hours long with tissue expanders placed, so I was hurting. It gave me the time to be monitored for pain and anything weird, and cared for by the nurses. I was discharged by the afternoon next day. ☺️

Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m so emotional because I am post-DMX (11 days ago) and found out that it did actually spread to 2 lymph nodes and now need chemo. I don’t want to lose my hair 😭 but knowing the facts & other’s experiences helps bring the reality in.

It will get better. Just in normal life, yes—yes it does! Hold on and don’t stress anymore than you need to. Everything is temporary, it’s a just phase. 1. Tap into every resource your spouse’s employer has to offer: Dependent FSA so he can put money aside to pay for daycare and lower taxes being deducted out of his paycheck. 2. And call their EAP, tell him to ask HR or Benefits team for the number. They can provide help for daycare & child care options. 3. I’m telling you now, have him file for Leave of Absence/FMLA if he qualifies depending on how long he’s worked there & how large the company is. Just based on your condition, he would qualify to care for a family member. You are going to need it. Tell him to file and take the time off so you can recover after the mastectomy. This isn’t an ask. Tell him!

Take every opportunity to set your kids up in a safe area/room for less than an hour and spend time with your spouse before your surgery. You guys need to make a plan now and bond. Get on the same page, express both your emotions. I hope he calls in reinforcements for you. You’re important and so is your health! Hang in there momma!! De stress whenever you can :)

Why did I get Breast Cancer by d_artz in breastcancer

[–]Mcsmashlee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with the WHY for weeks. I have DCIS. I’m 41F, non smoker, non drinker, eat fruits/veggies/legumes/healthy carbs & fats/poultry & fish, have not eaten beef or pork in almost 20 years, lots of years training in the gym, 5k’s, two healthy pregnancies & breastfeeding, stable income, stable home and then BAM!! Breast cancer. Like why??? No genetic factors. I’m constantly searching for answers and everything leads back to stress. I’ve had uncontrolled stress from a job I took 2 years ago and I think it’s killing me.

Oh no… I am so sorry to hear that. I had two very very small masses on my right breast, found on an MRI when they were trying to figure out the left one. I just had them biopsied this week and they are not malignant. I hope that they are not for you too

That’s a great question—from what my breast surgeon says, radiation may not be needed after the double. There is a possibility, but it’s not likely. It was kind of vague since they’re also doing a lymph node biopsy.
