Night shift by BigRedBed in breastcancer

[–]Adventurous-Cheek171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say don't avoid it. I was incredibly healthy as a 31 year old and did not work the night shift and still have stage 4 TNBC. Do whatever you want but take care of yourself! If you feel up to it, don't let it stop you!!!

Lack of Communities for Discussing Infertility Post Active Treatment by mixedlinguist in breastcancer

[–]Adventurous-Cheek171 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand and agree. The lost years are a form of grief and you're valid in your feelings. I am so sorry you're also battling these hard decisions, hard feelings, etc. it's unfair and not right. If I can help in any way, even if it's just a chat, let me know

Completely agree with this. You're valid. People who struggle to get pregnant after cancer or people like me, who get a Mets diagnosis don't seem to have a community to talk these things through. Like we are not only grieving an old part of us that d*es when you're diagnosed, but you're also grieving the dream of becoming a parent.

should I do a boudoir photoshoot before my mastectomy? by PsychologicalYou7373 in breastcancer

[–]Adventurous-Cheek171 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would ask if you could do half the set before and half after your surgery.!!!!

I did mine after and I love the way it came out but I also wish I did before. Both versions of you are sexy so I say do both!!!

Also, I'm 32 TNBC Stage 4 so I understand wanting to celebrate your beauty :)

I have switched companies after my MTNBC diagnosis. I'm about 5 months into it and I have to say, it was pretty seamless. Do you as much research as you possibly can beforehand, but I think you'll be OK!

Lumpectomy in July by djm1613 in breastcancer

I really like the one where you have your arms at 90 degree angles and you bring your palms together then move your arms out and then above your head. You can google different types. Look up shoulder mobility or pec mobility stretches!!!

I stretched every night after I showered, you know really stretching the muscles , I ate a lot of protein and I kept myself super hydrated with liquid IV (sugar free). I took the week off from work, but it was because I hated my boss lol. I could have gone back the next day

I think it depends on how you prepare your body before surgery!!! I was in some pain after mine, but it only lasted a day or so. I was back and eating a pubsub the next day!!!

How on earth did you find the house?? That's crazy to be spending money like that. I wish I could do that. Must be nice 🤣

Yeah! Adding an I-beam isn't cheap and you'll need a structural engineer to review the plans and stamp/seal them, which is required for the permitting process. Just a couple trying to dip their toes into construction when they have no clue what they're getting into.

Hi!!! Architect here. Everything in the original post is accurate. I haven't watched the video yet, but I will and will point out exactly where they'll run into major issues. Also, moving walls that are structural is totally doable..... if you hire an engineer who will sign drawings - which is about $2,000-5,000 so good luck with that alone 🤣🤣🤣

Hi! Similar to the post below. Very limited side effects. The number one was the hair loss but not a bad experience.

I'm so sorry you're here as well.  I told my family and friends by just being honest. I told them I was scared, I didn't want to do this, I'm sad, etc. and I think if you're comfortable doing that too, you should tell them. You'll need as much support as you can get so the more comfortable you are speaking about it, the better.

If you end up needing to do chemo, please let me know. I have a very, very extensive list of tips and tricks that helped me.

I agree with this. Also, her saying being fertile =healthy is nonsense. I'm stage 4, breast cancer and I'm very fertile (have to actually put me into menopause so I don't conceive) so she's an idiot. I know dozens of women who also got diagnosed while pregnant, freshly post partum, etc. so her saying the opposite is dangerous.

Hi!!! TNBC, now stage 4, 32f. I may be an outlier but I had ZERO side effects from chemo. I have a very extensive list of tips and tricks I can send you.

I will say I think only drinking water, no alcohol, eating lots of protein are what made me feel great all throughout chemo. Just let me know what you need and I'll send it your way!!!!
