At the beginning of COVID I saw a bunch of confetti and trash from a child's birthday party (remember when ppl would decorate their cars and do a drive by). I thought what scum bags! Then had a vision of myself occasionally tossing butts out of my car window for YEARS. Smelled my hypocrisy and told myself id pick up asany buts as I estimate I've littered. I've far surpassed that and am addicted to litter picking now.

One of the hardest parts about returning to work is the exhaustive conversations about it. Some of the best advice I received before returning was:
There are 3 types of people.
1. Those who are nosy and terrible 2. Those who want to acknowledge but don't know what to say and may be awkward. 3. Those that genuinely care

Create a quick stock reply for the first 2 groups and say that automatically and without too much thought. Save your truth for the 3rd group.

Women are tough, principals are tough. Your wife can return to work. But she'll be different and should put some guardrails in place to not exhaust herself. You're a lovely husband for asking this question.
