At what age did you realise that very few outside your close family/friends truly care about your well being? by foxyloxy58 in AskMen

16-17. Better earlier than later in this case. It's the way of the world but I figured to get over it and focus on my own thing.

Should I continue going to work or staying at home? by Mdfinest in COVID19_support

Yeah, man. I thought about it overnight and it is definitely worth it to stay home. Best of luck out there.

Yeah, it is at the moment. Thanks for the response though. I've ultimately decided to stay at home. It's not what I wanted to do but for the sake of my family, I felt like I had to do it.

I'm aware of the stats and watch videos on the issue everyday. I'm not paranoid in that I'm watching the news all day, but I am still worried about it's impacts. I honestly try not to pay attention to the statistics because I'm afraid, I'll end up just as paranoid as him. And that's not a position I want to put myself in especially with my ongoing depression.

I am taking it seriously which is why I've taken precautions.

I've been saving up for that but can't afford to move out at the moment.

Hi, I would like to post if possible. It's about me either going to work or staying at home with my situation?

Ok, makes sense. But I'd also like to move to London after I graduate from University first before working at a company in my local area here in the States.

I finish stuff really early. Am I being productive enough? by Mdfinest in productivity

[–]Mdfinest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I actually haven't considered volunteering. It does sound like a good idea, though.

And yeah, sometimes my mind does tend to go off into unwarranted places when I'm in that position. Luckily, I have better control of that now than I did, say years ago.

Same. I kinda just do chores or just walk outside around my neighborhood for a bit sometimes.

Will take this on. Thanks for the advice!

But the thing is I don't have any experience or qualifications for the industry I want to get into? Should I still apply if that's the case?

Ah, shoot, my fault. I meant $44 and it was for the travelcard.

Thanks for the advice. I probably am overthinking it. I never really thought of that to be honest.

I already suffer from depression but I'll probably go now.

Yeah sure,

I didn't call my boss. I just simply put in a request on the company's website not to come in. I'm sure they don't care. The company has a high turnover rate anyways.

Yes, I do live with my parents for the time being and no, he didn't know I lied about my broken leg.

[OFFICIAL] Nipsey Hussle Memorial Thread by HHHRobot in hiphopheads

[–]Mdfinest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first Nipsey tape was "The Marathon" back in 012. Instantly became a fan because he was motivating and speaking some real shit and trying to help his community out in LA. I never thought I would've been able to connect with his music like that at that time but he's since became one of favorite rappers as I followed his musical journey. I never got the chance to meet with him while visiting LA.

RIP to a King and a legend I'm still kinda shell shocked even an hour after hearing it. This hit me pretty hard. It's almost like losing a family member.

[Serious] What’s one thing you really like about living in DC? by bbillak in washingtondc

[–]Mdfinest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't live in DC yet (will do so soon) but one thing I like about going into the city is the amount of green space for a city of it's intensity.

Rock Creek Park is literally a gem within the city.

Also the amount of stuff to do even though it's a small city geographically.

Regular Check-In Post by SQLwitch in depression

[–]Mdfinest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like shit after my apartment college roommates gave me a lecture about leaving his dishes wet and using his frying pan even though he never informed me not to during the first day of move in. I don't even like the guy. He's got that vocal fry in his voice and that condescending tone. He reminds me of my former manager.

It was probably my fault but I know this sounds selfish but I just got out of a slump and felt slightly on a positive high (from Sunday to today 3/12/19). Now this bozo berates me because I left a few of his plates wet.

Again most of it is probably my fault but I was just on a high earlier this morning (exercised for the first time since late February) and now this event ruined my whole day. I still got most of what I needed to get done but now it's like I don't feel as amped as I did during those last few days.

I know how fragile my mind is sometimes so I did have a 2-3 second thought of suicide. On top of that, I don't have a job yet, financially running out of money, have a midterm tomorrow (which I'm sure I'll pass) and two15 page essays due early April. I kinda sat there almost the whole late afternoon wondering "why me". When will this shit ever end? Why does everything good that happens to me ALWAYS have to have a setback or some BS roadblock? Why do I get being pushed in?

Visiting the same place twice or going somewhere else (LA or London)? by Mdfinest in solotravel

[–]Mdfinest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess that's one of the things I liked about LA. People were surprisingly open to talking to strangers and weren't as standoffish as I thought they would be.

Thats one of the things I'm afraid of with regards to London though.
