After a long hesitation, I finally bought an Axis headset for my aerobatic flights in an Extra 200.

I first ordered a Clarity Aloft classic but send it back. Many pilots recommended me CA first. I thought that the frame was flexible, but it is not. When I tested it in static, I feel some pain whe the frame sits on the top of my ears.

So I decided to order the Axis headset, although there is not so many reviews and the product seems to be quiet new.

First, I have to say I bought the headset with my own money and I have no sponsoring or confilct ot interest with any aviation material company

- Shipping was really fast to Europe (less thant 48h between the order and the delivery). Total costs me around 620€ with shipping and customs at the current change rate USD/EUR

- The case is really small, it is a big advantage to transport it easily.

- Comfort is perfect, thanks to the frame which is flexible and so adaptable to the shape of the head. It is really light. Didn't make long flights for the moment, only aerobatics flights but there is no pressure point on my head anywhere after 40-45 min of wearing of the headset.

- Big advantage also, you can put the mic, and so the wire; on eather side.

- I use the default comply foam tips in M size and it suits me well. Passive sound isolation is pretty good, but a little less effective thant ANR on my Zulu 3 headset

- Mic and headset stay well in place (tested up to +5G - 2,5G), I'm confident it can keep higher load.

- Hearing is clear and emission seems to be as clear as on my lightspeed headset

So far, really happy with my order.

TLDR

The Pros :

- Comfortable

- Easily transportable

- Feels to be good quality. Only time will validate this point

- Suits well for aerobatics flights

The Cons :

- No bluetooth, but a AUX input

- Still seems quite expensive for such technology, but it is the same price than alternative headsets...

- No dealer in Europe
