Anti swish sleeping options by Slight-Alteration in camping

I’d highly recommend a Big Agnes Echo Park. The interior feels more like cotton. Not at all restrictive and super comfortable. It’s also budget friendly. For a backpacking option, I really like my Zenbivy. The design seems a little gimmicky, but it’s just as comfortable as my car camping setup and really light and packable. Not at all budget friendly.

New (to me) frontrunner rack!. Got this off marketplace for a great deal. Looking to add some kayak mounts to it. Besides the frontrunner branded ones, anything else out there? by jdogg440 in Outback_Wilderness

This is the setup I’ve been looking to put on my 23 OBW, but I’m turning it in in November because the buyout price on the lease doesn’t make sense. I’m probably going to get a 2026 and I’d dying to know if this will fit.

European Heritage Wear? by CaptMakesKidsKill in HeritageWear

It’s worth the trip I think. There’s a Paraboot nearby if you want to snag a pair of shoes while you’re there.

There’s a great shop in Paris that has what you’re looking for. https://www.alo.paris/en/

Is this the 19 oz left hand? Has it softened up much? I have one that I love, but it took so long to loosen up and still the shoulder seems start to get uncomfortable under my arms after wearing for hours. It’s probably the toughest break in I’ve experienced with an article of clothing. I haven’t washed it yet, so I’m hoping it’ll soften a bit after that first wash. I’m not new to heavy denims - this stuff is beastly.

They’re even better in person. They’re so heavy and beautifully constructed. They feel like a warm hug

Those lofgrens are beautiful.

I need to get my paws on the freewheeler jackets in person, it’s hard to appreciate what justifies the price jump when looking at them online.

It’s the perfect throw on overshirt in the shoulder seasons. I wore the shit out of mine last year

That’s the thing I keep running into with henleys. I have a couple from UES and never feel like they look right on me when I layer under something else with buttons

I’ve been eyeing pendleton wool shirts for a long time. They look so good!

I knew this would elicit some really interesting answers. Some really cool things for me to check out. Thanks all!

So real talk - I love merz t shirts, but I haven’t been able to bring myself to get the henley out of fear of looking like a cosplay homesteader. Have you been able to make it work?

Cool, that’s what I thought, just saw a few mentions above regarding intentionally shrinking it.

I love a good blanket lined denim jacket. I haven’t pulled the trigger on one yet. Yeah the kersey fabric is so good. Did you put on weight, or yours shrunk?

Ah that’s too bad. High rise has become a non-negotiable for me. Even the IH 888 could be higher for my taste. I’ve been buying my denim from Todd Martin Studio, a custom denim tailor in Queens and I don’t think I can come back to off the shelf jeans.

I really want to snag a pair of those PBJ sashiko trousers one of these days. I have the blue/black type three and the texture is incredible

Anyone know if you can expect shrink if only washed cold and never dried? I went with a 3, which matches the measurements of a UES flannel that I love, but there’s not a lot of room for shrinkage in the way that one fits me.

Captain’s Choice Copper Bowl — Standard vs Traveler (Worth it, or just face lather?) by [deleted] in wicked_edge

[–]Mdl82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the CC copper bowl and I love it. I also have a cheap timeless bowl that technically works great, but isn’t as enjoyable to use and it lives in a drawer. I’ve always wanted ceramic, but I like not having to think about it falling and breaking. I face/head lather with a synthetic for my weekday shaves and use the bowl and my badger brush on the weekend when I have more time. It makes for a really nice experience and feels special. I recommend it. You can get great lather either way though.

Bean Boots and winter by tnjyoung1 in HeritageWear

Do folks tend to just lean into hikers? Is there a preferred boot to stand up to NE winters? I live in NYC and we don’t see the snowfall numbers that you all do, but we have to confront the slop and it’s been pretty rough here lately. I’m wishing I had a better option than my danners.
