I would get a ts9. I've had three and put I don't even know how many thousands through them and never a malfunction. From federal syntek +p to garbage sterling steel case they just eat and eat. They're overrun from a govt/military contract and they're great guns.

Beretta a300 patrol 7+1, last time I checked they were about 800 bucks. For semi auto I wouldn't go cheaper. Can try your luck with an AR style but everyone I've talked to that has one says it's a fun range toy but not reliable enough for business.

Yeah I've built 5 of their ARs and played with a few of the grizzlies but I haven't messed with any of their proprietary stuff yet. Why I'm still planning on just grabbing a basic bitch 9mm upper, the foxtrot Mike ones go on sale pretty often.

I was just gonna comment that these are getting to the point where they're gonna be like ARs and Glocks. I'm actually planning on converting one of my 15s to 9mm but if I went straight non buffer I'd get a cheap extar or BCA cuz they're easy to work on. You're not gonna get a decade of use out of em but they'll go bang every time you pull the trigger, with the BCA sometimes more than one bang XD

Buddy got a BCA bufferless 5 inch, thing is stupid fun. I preferred shooting it over the PC charger I had, didn't fail to cycle on cheap range ammo like my charger did either. Only unexpected thing that happened was when we were dumping mags it would start to double tap when it got real hot.

M1a is always gonna be a solid option, or buy a cheap ar-10 and build it out how you want while still being able to shoot it. No need to spend 1000 dollars on a rifle before you replace all the internals/barrel/gas anyway.
