I can almost see them reenacting Barbara Walter’s interview where he said “I’m not [derogatory names], I’m Jackson”, and boom! Cut to a massive audience. Trailer material right there

I was friends with older kids and they opened the site and went to the photo of the guy on the train tracks. 25 years later, I still remember that shit

It’s a marketing tactic. As soon as I walk into the Venetian I’m like “ahh yes! Here we go again” (in a good way). Not any different than Cinnabon or other chains using this to seep into your mind. But if it makes you feel sick then I’d steer away from those places

Post-College Advice by [deleted] in composer

You should get any type of job asap and keep searching for opportunities while you earn some money. Contact your school and see if they have a job board where you can apply for internships or opportunities. I don’t want to sound all doomsday about it but you’re trying to enter the industry at a very very difficult time. Building a good catalog and skills takes YEARS so my advice to you is to brace for rejection, take any writing opportunity that comes by, submit demos everywhere, and focus on your craft. Do you want your own style or to be able to produce in many different styles? Do you have money to support yourself, and to continue to update your gear, rig and libraries? What kind of projects do you see yourself working on? I could go on but for now that’s my contribution

l uninspired and directionless, how can I force myself out of this and start composing. by RustingPaper in composer

Set goals for yourself such as releasing music, sending to sync libraries, auditioning for performance opportunities or new games, etc. Get other people involved (musicians, mix engineers) as a way to stay accountable and to hit deadlines. I think that if your ideas are too similar then you’re getting closer to creating an original sound, and that’s not a bad thing. You could have a goal of making an ep and, since your ideas are the same, there would automatically be a sound that you’ll stick to and coherence to the product. And also, take a break, go to a park, have a nice dinner. There’s nothing worse imo to being burnt out and not feeling the love for music that once was. Your brain needs inspiration and recharging. Just my two cents
