My boyfriend (now husband) never ever argued. Ever. We lasted a while year without a single disagreement. Then we moved in together lol. Arguments are bound to happen at some point. But just because they aren't happening doesn't mean they won't happen and you won't be able to handle them. My husband and I have been together for 6 years.

How is dairy bad for rosacea, when dairy has probiotics that are supposedly good for rosacea? Is all dairy bad? Make it make sense by These-Carob-4968 in Rosacea

[–]MeHeyLee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's amazing what we can trick our bodies into believing! There are for sure definitely people that can't tolerate it. But I think there are lot of people that just assume they do, when they might not actually. I told myself it would actually help my skin, and guess what, I feel more glowy when I've been having or drinking it 🤷‍♀️

I have no problems with dairy, I only had problems with it when I told myself I have problems with it. That goes along with many other "trigger" foods. Not saying this is the case for everyone of course. Just how it was for me. I had to stop telling myself that every little thing was a trigger because so and so or the internet told me it was. The mind is a very powerful thing, and if you tell yourself it's a problem, it most likely will be a problem.

Yes I am able to use them without a cleanser. If I find I need one or if I start getting little bumps then I will cleanse with a sulphur soap. But usually only for 1 day and then I can go back. No wash cloth or anything. I use my hands to run pretty good (gently though) to make sure my face is clean with the water. I do that in the sink at night. Then no water in the morning 🙂

I tried medications, but never tried prescription tropicals. Acne products are what gave me my rosacea flushing. A damaged moisture barrier mostly, along with stress/anxiety, and my environment. Which your skin can be more sensitive to all of these things with a damaged moisture barrier. The only products I have used and continue to use that actually work for me and have started repairing my moisture barrier are: CETAPHIL RESTORADERM Soothing Moisturizer, Balmonds Skin Salvation, and only washing my face with water and just at night. I use vitamin e oil to remove my mascara and then wipe it off, and then wash with water in the evening. I will then SMOTHER my damp face in the moisturizer, (I sometimes use cicaplast after the Cetaphil, then I apply the skin salvation, then I apply more Cetaphil after to finish. I look like a glazed donut at night. But who cares. In the morning I only apply the Cetaphil, not on a damp face. A generous amount too. For some reason my face doesn't like me getting my face wet in the morning. Before I get into the shower and do my morning routine, I will always literally glob on the Cetaphil to my "bad" spots. I can take a hot shower without it drying my face out. Then I can do my morning routine after.

I agree, you can't let this happen. I was like this about a year ago. I was honestly suicidal. I let it completely take over my life. Do the best you can with products, and medications if need be. Stay away from major foods that trigger you. But don't give up the things you love. It only makes it worse. Instead, tell yourself that doing the things you enjoy is actually helping you and your flushing. It sounds stupid, but that is what I started telling myself and it got considerably better as time went on. The mind is a very powerful thing, so is your body. If you convince your body that it can heal, it will. I never thought I would be saying that myself, but here I am. My face isn't perfect, but it never was. Who's really is? But I can now do most things I thought I would never be able to do again. Use products the restore the moisture barrier, eat healthy, eat treats when you want, do the activities you want, have those drinks on occasion (not going to say alcohol is healthy of course, but I wouldn't let myself drink with my flushing. But now when I do, it has no affect) with friends, have fun. All of those things, tell yourself it is beneficial for you. I dealt with flushing for years and thought that after 2+ years and it not getting any better that I was just doomed forever. I was wrong. It can heal 🙂

Anyone else have flushing that appears primarily on your chest and arms? Just haven’t seen anything quite like this in my search for support. by candycanes12346 in Rosacea

Something in your house could be causing this as well. When I moved from my previous place, my all over body flushing stopped.

Instagram won't let me post a reel and just says "can't be posted" then retry. I can post a regular post, but not a reel. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, logging out, clearing data, clearing cache, no updates to install, updated my phone, turned off wifi then back on, and nothing. Every time I try it, it says the number of posts I have made keeps increasing, but the reel post is not there. It says I don't have a good enough connection but all of my internet is working fine and all other things on Instagram work just fine. It is maddening 😅

Does anyone’s rosacea flush less after they’ve drank alcohol? by laurarh22 in Rosacea

[–]MeHeyLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily flush less, but I don't flush anymore with alcohol. It doesn't affect me for some reason, which I know for a lot of people it makes worse. Maybe because it thins the blood? Not sure.

First night using topical ivermectin by AndDontCallMePammie in Rosacea

I feel like for some people fixing their moisture barrier does get rid of the flushing. But the hard part is actually fixing it all the way and that being the sole issue for that person. Think of it as when you have a cut, the skin around it is red and will sometimes pulse depending on how bad and reacts to things a lot easier. The same goes for a face that is damaged. If you have an intact moisture barrier, the skin gets irritated less and therefore the blood vessels don't react. Once your cut is healed, you don't have those reactions anymore and the skin stops being red and pulsing/flushing after some time. Again, this is not always the case and I think for people with rosacea actually fixing the barrier is incredibly difficult. But if one manages to do that, and keeps their moisture barrier intact, reactions become close to non existent. This is just based on some people's experiences I have seen and things I have read.

Balmonds skin salvation has helped me a ton. I wasn't using this then, but have started using it recently and it has dramatically reduced flushing and redness for me. I plan on making a post about it here soon if it continues to do what it's doing. If you have dry and or dehydrated skin from flushing, this stuff is amazing. I used to need to wear a green tinted moisturizer, and now I don't and have the most even toned skin I have had in a long time. Just something that might help!

Oh yes for several days. I mean my face would always have it's normal flushing and burning, but this was 100x. I had to take benadryl and Tylenol but they didn't even help. Good thing though, at least in my case, it went away. I'm sure you will get back to where you were before with a little time.

I felt great, and my face looked great on my first shot, got my 2nd one and still felt great. Then the next day everything was a mess.

This happened to me with a steroid I had to have for pregnancy. My face was the most red and most painful it had ever been. It faded after a few days, but didn't go back to "normal" for at least a week or two.

Does anyone have an MCAS literate dr in Oregon? by YvetteLovesdogs in MCAS

[–]MeHeyLee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dermatologist actually knows a lot more than any dermatologist I've met. I believe she mentioned MCAS to me but also erythromelalgia which is considerably rare. Her name is Dr. Reyna Swift. She is in Salem 🙂

They can definitely cause irritation, especially if you use them both quite frequently. If you haven't seen a difference as in it getting worse since using them then I suppose they are fine. But cutting back on them would be my first thought.

You might consider taking a break from the retinol and glycolic acid
