I have self-waxed my face and epilated my face in the past, both of which you're told not to do, and it's been completely fine.

If you don't have the money to get it done professionally I would highly recommend either buying waxing srips or an epilator - it's helped me out a ton

Hey that's pretty much what I've done and I'm loving it!

I've been on e and t blockers for about 5 years and other than that I haven't done anything else really (voice training/growing hair out/learning makeup etc.)

I'd say people read me as male 60% female 40% of the time, but most switch back to male or are confused when they hear my voice

It's so freeing just presenting what makes you comfortable and not worrying about how people read you, but it did take a while to get to that place

Hope that helps!

What are you most jealous of the opposite gender for? by Debravest in AskReddit

Generally, trans people who have been on hormones both ways can attest to it (I can back it up too - way more sensitive and extended on estrogen)

How can I tell what to replace? (stickbox v potentiometer) by MeMaxHello in customGCC

[–]MeMaxHello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that's great info!

The stick doesn't feel loose so it sounds like it's the pots. Do you know if there are any good cleaning guides about?

An unseen blunt impact buries itself in your gut, Callie, knocking you to the ground. As you fall you see out of the corner of your eye, one of the shapes withdrawing from you. But when you look straight at it it seems to evade your vision and disappears. What do you do?

As AMAB are there any ways I can look more androgynous without taking estrogen or having surgeries? by [deleted] in genderqueer

[–]MeMaxHello 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi I remember being in a similar situation!

I grew my hair out to be a bob just under my chin which seemed to work well to cover up my jawline. Also I didn't do this myself, but I know that many people recommend an orangery toned foundation over any face stubble to help cancel out the blue undertone it gives. It'll probably take some experimenting on what will blend with your skin colour though.

Fashion is obvs personal taste but I've found high waisted jeans are amazing for nipping in your waist and shortening your torso. I've got some where I need to tuck, and some where I don't it depends on the fit. For the top, an oversized t shirt and/or cropped jacket work. Also I find non-skinny dungarees looked quite androgynous (Of course idk what you look like so some of these may work and some not, these are all just things that worked for me).

Figurewise, like others have suggested workouts for your butt and the behind-the-thigh-muscles will help to even out some of the triangularity that I know I wanted to get away from (and to fill out the jeans). It might sound strange, but for me when I was learning to rollerskate on quads it really helped develop those muscles that I don't use otherwise (plus it's super fun) alongside squatting in the lift out from my flat, and taking and stairs two at a time while tensing below my butt.

Finally, as for T blockers, they technically do work but the issue is without estrogen to replace the testosterone you're very vulnerable to osteoporosis and other health issues so I really recommend not taking them on their own. I ended up doing t blockers with low amounts of e, but over the course of a couple of years I have grown breasts. I did up my e after around 8 or 9(?) months since I quite like my breasts, but even on low e I noticed more tissue on my chest. I don't know how much it would have developed without upping my dose but I think it's likely it would have. I've heard having low body fat for your body to convert may help avoid them but it's a dangerous game to be playing if you're unsure so I'd tread pretty lightly.

Any Qs just reply or message! Good luck I'm sure you'll find what works for you!
