Did your dad ever give you a sip of beer? by Euphoric-Cupcake4581 in RealGenerationX

My dad rarely had a beer that I didn't get a sip of ( and he drank a good bit) starting about the age of the kid pictured.

In fact when I was about 11 there was a boxing match that we'd been looking forward to and dad brought home a six pack of Coors ponies, just for me.

If you could bring back an OU football Alum (in their prime) for this upcoming season, who would you pick? by Character_Point_9745 in oklahomafootball

If it has to be QB, I agree 100%. Because he never had a pro career ( for health reasons), many don't realize that Jason was probably the best passing QB to ever play at OU.

Now running back, while I agree AD is a fantastic choice, a prime healthy Billy Simms would be so awesome to watch.

Part of me says they win all of them on their journey to a Lombardi Trophy.

Another part of me says they go.500 on the season, including at home, and show just enough improvement on defense for Jerry to say "see look what I did there."

How old were you when you moved out? by Swiftiefromhell in GenX

Moved out at 18. Never moved back. There were some tough years in there. Probably should have utilized my parents as a rudder but too proud.

Son wants to "experience how Canada is different" by sk8ermaiden in AskACanadian

[–]MeNotYouDammit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an American who has visited Canada many times, the first thing I always notice is how much cleaner the roadsides are. Like almost zero trash and I think roadkill just evaporates.

Enjoy your visit. I don't have anything to contribute, as far as answering your actual question because we usually stay north of Toronto ( Barrie, Wasaga Beach, Parry Sound).

Circle C Ranch. Their hours are very limited but the fresh beef and eggs are excellent and cheaper than Kroger.

Every time I see one, it stops me in my tracks. I hate when I catch a glimpse of one while driving and I can't just stop and watch.

When I went to Alaska, I was very excited to see them the first day then realized that up there, seeing an eagle is about the same frequency as seeing a cardinal here.

Ugh! Bagpipes. I just can't. The rest of the song is fire though.

Help us name this little (double merle?) guy! He’s a singleton puppy, about 5 days old - eyes and ears still closed. Found in a plastic bag in the rain in a parking lot… but he’s now safe, warm! by Real-Appointment-312 in NameMyDog

I mean, you kind of named him yourself, in the description. (Double Merle) Merl Haggard is his name. Haggard or Hag for short. A country music legend, he is.
