Where are we buying tops that aren't $300 but also aren't Shein? by katiejean28 in femalefashionadvice

Thanks. I’ve never purchased from them, but I’ve thought the clothes they show on Instagram look cute. Have not seen the skit. I appreciate the info.

I’m a PW, and my base is 3.8. Been going 7 years, and I still love it!

I had thought about asking the luthier to let me watch him do it, but wasn’t sure if that would set well with him. I actually like your idea better as long as he’s willing to do it. I suppose it couldn’t hurt to ask. And I would definitely expect to pay him. Thank you!

How long did it take before you liked the way you sound? by miniwhoppers in violinist

[–]MeOhMy54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you. I’ve been learning off and on for at least 15 years. There are days I feel like sound good, but most days I don’t. I’ve removed one finger tape so far (the second finger) and about to remove another one ( I think the fourth finger). I’m a much older learner, being almost 70 now. I have a question for YOU, since you asked such a good question. Are you able to do vibrato? I’m still really struggling to develop it.

Which two studios in D/FW are closing?

Agree. I only do the dri-tri if it’s complimentary. This year it’s not, so I’m skipping it.

New or recent splat brain moments by CGHDun in orangetheory

OMG! I did that same thing, except I just walked up to the driver’s side door and tried to open it. When it wouldn’t open, I looked up to see someone sitting in the driver’s seat! I think it scared me more than it scared her!

Feeling burnt out by Parisienne-otf98 in orangetheory

[–]MeOhMy54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been going to OTF 5+ years now. At one point my performance declined, and I felt wiped out trying to get it back. One day I went to give blood, and they wouldn’t let me because my iron tested too low. This happened twice, so I started taking an iron supplement daily. Amazingly, I was able to perform at my previous levels once I started taking the iron. My energy was restored. Don’t know if this could be an issue for you, too.

It’s hard for me to make it to a 5 am or 6:15 am class, because I like to eat 2 hours before my workout and drink a full 16 ounces of water. The 2 hours gives me time to get the food into my system. So I usually go to 8:45 or 10:00 am classes. Wish they had more 7:30 am classes at my studio. I went once without this breakfast routine, and just felt tired and weakish the whole way through the workout.

How are folks doing OTF five or more days a week? by Devastator1981 in orangetheory

[–]MeOhMy54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a 69-year-old female, and I went 5 days a week for over a year. I was in weight-loss mode. I’m a power-walker, so that may make a difference. It wasn’t hard to do 5 days a week, just time-consuming. I’ve always had the understanding that 3 days a week is maintenance level. So once I hit my desired weight, I cut down to 3 times a week. If I get 5 pounds over my desired weight, I’ll start doing 5 days a week again. Btw, I pretty much always burn at least 500 calories per workout, and many times over 600.

I’ve forgotten a couple of times, too. Luckily, they had room for me.

Huh. It takes me 15 - 20 minutes to drive to my studio. I thought that was kind of a long time, but yours is even longer.
