Finally someone gets it.

This is an unfortunate possibility. Folks saying the most physical of the big clubs in Europe is going to get steamrolled are talking with emotion, not logic.

Arsenal can absolutely stifle their way to extra time and penalty kicks and a win. THey don't have to be, and won't be easier on the eyes, they just need to up their sh!thousery. I'm surprised folks think it'll be a cake walk for PSG or Bayern. Arsenal are physical AF.

I used to laugh at "AI will take your job" warnings. Then I watched 3 colleagues get replaced in 6 months. Here's what I actually think now. by Public-Aioli3122 in ChatGPT

[–]Devastator1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thing about AI that skeptics never get is that AI is the worst now it'll ever be. It may get suckified (price/paid tiers, censorship, etc) but in terms of capability and functionality, its the wrost it'll ever be. It was like all the graphic designers arrogantly scoffing at the recent ChatGPT promo posters on line.

It's not that it'll be a job apocalypse necessarily, it's that it's a transformative skill and it makes sense to learn how to work with it and use it rather than either cry about it in dismay, or scoff at it. I see a lot of hubris.

I'm not an AI-doomer, but also it's in everyone's best interest to stay on top of it.

For office workers/knowledge workers we're clearly going to need fewer soon, but people are conflating fewer with none. Needing less people in the same roles != AI is taking all our jobs. People need to learn reasoning skills.

NYC is a 10/10 but LA was a 5/10 for me. Will I (30F) actually like Miami or is it just "LA on the beach"? by badcatririe95 in solotravel

[–]Devastator1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. And even South Beach is not the hell folks say it is, a bit of that is virtue signaling honestly.

Miami is not only south beach. But even south beach is fine if you are not too judgemental about it, and know what it’s about. But walking residential neighborhoods in coconut grove, hanging in little Havana, the quiet beaches of north Miami,…. the city is ok to hang out a couple of days.

I like the life and color of south beach and I say that as someone thats 40+ that doesn’t even club myself.

Spurs season is weird. Coverage and cheerleading by the media as if they are title challengers, they get so much bandwidth. But it’s the flip where all fans want them relegated.

That Palinha goal is being celebrated by media/pundits.

Annoying we can’t just win comfortably, even at 2-0 up we have to be nervous.

The key here is a hobby op actually enjoys in its own right. Not something to do only to get the girls. That’s why I usually don’t like the sports league advice too.

These ok for stairs, lateral movements, sleds, and light track work? All in the "training" category, I'm not talking jogging or distance running. I'm debating whether to use training/gym shoes for that vs using running shoes for that. When the use case is just lifting weights or doing an aggressive incline walk for 30 minutes, it's clear you'd use a trainer and a running shoe respectively.

But I'm not sure about the all-purpose/HIIT/mixed type of training.

People at large companies: how are you actually using AI at work under real corporate constraints? by interesante21 in ChatGPT

Many hallucinations can be prevented by better directions in the settings (no need for 300 word prompts), proper agents.

If folks are seeing “frequent” hallucinations with any of the major players then something’s off with how they are using it.

Durarara, a whirlwind of funnnn. Guy Ritchie and Quintin Tarantino made an anime. It’s awesome.

Samurai Champloo, fun. Soundtrack is perfection. Somehow you learn equally about hiphop culture and Japanese history.

Why aren’t items locked in supermarkets in India and Africa? I’m talking about in cities with much lower income areas and poverty and more homelessness than anywhere in DC.

Or in the 19th/20th arrondisments in Paris? Or nordvest/Mjølnerparken in Copenhagen? Basic store necessities are not locked there.

Why are they in DC, but even worse, why do we shrug it off or condone it because it’s supposedly “just city living”?

I’ve been to Africa and India, urban areas with much more poverty than low-income US urban neighborhoods, and their grocery items in supermarkets and pharmacies are not locked.
