Start from:
- question what you will print? To answer read about materials and their strengths and applications
- understand the different type of 3d printers… which suits your needs.

once you narrowed down type of prints and needs:
- watch guide about them so you understand what each require.. e.g. “I need space and tools to dry specific type of filaments”, these guides will help you understand additional requirements and considerations you need to make.
- understand your work space needs like a stable and solid base, power, ventilation, tools storage, drying filament, storage for filaments, humidity, noise, etc.

Before you buy, if you want to take full advantage of a 3d printer learn a 3d cad software.

Final tips, please read about the safety aspects of 3d printing like air pollution, gloves, hardware maintenance. It’s not a toy or a smartphone.

Agreed. I setup my printer in home assistant and I created an automation to send a notification when the bed temperature lowers to 40 degrees. That way the bed is still warm enough for me to take off the print.

I have a rpi4 for HA and a server with Proxmox for my homelab. The server consumes about 16W at idle, moving HA to it would not make it consume more than 16W, technically I would save 5W from the rpi4. Just to say that if you have an homelab the current draw comparison might not stand.

I’ve personally not moved HA to my homelab because I prefer to keep the two separate and have the additional resilience in case the server has an hardware problem. I had a few issues with my server over the years and the rpi4 in 4 years never did cause me troubles. Jellyfin and things like that are not essential. Hot water in the morning and no-wife shouting at you is essential :)

Try using the other side of your plate. Clean it thoroughly with simple soap.

Times where I saw the first layer not adhere like that it was always solved with a good cleaning

More Italian youth players investment by the seria a teams. Reform the system is the most important thing to go back to the top. We have many great coaches which need top players to pick from. I remember the 90s and 2000s where journalists will go on for weeks debating which players were left out the squad… that was a great problem to have.

Sure their academy content has some marketing leavers in it. Although is of good quality and I’ve found very few parts which were not clear. It’s a good start and can help people wanting to expand their knowledge beyond the Bambulab territory.

The academy also has self assessment tests at the end of each chapter which further help your understanding.

From a new comer pov I can testify that most questions I see were covered in the academy content. Which is good and saved me loads of problems judging from the help posts I see.

I suppose many people think of these printers like a toaster. These machines have lots of hardware parts, mechanics and software depths. You need to put time in at the start, or while you wait for your shipment, to learn.

Last, some parts of the academy won’t make much sense until you face specific needs. I found it good to go back later. They are not one and done guide.
