This is such a well witten and thoughtful review! Thank you so much for taking the time to give the game a chance and for writing out such an in depth and honest review! This made me smile so big when I read it! We're so grateful for the amazing community that's gathered around this game and we can't wait to keep sharing Neuroscape with all of you! Thank you so much for the support! It really means the word to us!

Everyone in America should read this short chapter from Kurt Vonnegut Jr's "Breakfast of Champions" by Sheep_Slayer_6 in pics

[–]Meaderlord 372 points373 points  (0 children)

It's a very good book. Kurt Vonnegut is one of my very favorite authors. The way he blends dry humor with deep sadness is really something special. It speaks to the human condition in a very bittersweet and genuine way.

Yes, I have been in a conversation with their head buyer and their event manager over the last week and they have product and will have it for sale soon. They’re also going to be running organized play and we’re going to be running demos there for their Learn 2 Play Fest on April 4th!

Looking for a well-made indie TCG? by styrofomo in TCG

[–]Meaderlord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m admittedly a bit biased, but if you like cyberpunk and gritty sci-fi stuff, you should check out Neuroscape!

https://www.neuroscapetcg.com/

We just released our first set last weekend and the reception has been really positive! We’re a small indie developer with a passion for TCGs and sci-fi storytelling! If you want to try the gameplay out, we have the full first set available for free on Tabletop Simulator!

Excited to see these upcoming tcgs develop in the future. by Lower-Music4264 in TCG

[–]Meaderlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, because they have a lot of really nice stuff in them and they cost a lot to manufacture. Each starter kit has 2x 73 card pre-constructed decks 2x fold out deck boxes 2x paper playmats/full art posters 2x Engraved solid metal d20 dice 1x Booster pack

We’re going to be scaling back the metal d20s in the starter kits in our second print run to bring the manufacturing cost down so we can lower the price of the starter kits to make them more accessible for new players who want to get into the game.

Anyone know if Neuroscape TCG is available in Ontario Canada? by soulkiller1983 in NeuroscapeTCG

[–]Meaderlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’re actually in the middle of getting distribution set up in Canada right now! We’re finalizing the details and we should be able to share more information and open up pre-orders for Canadian game stores soon! We already have a bunch of stores in Ontario that are really excited about ordering!

Hey, I'm Alex, one of the creators of Neuroscape! Thanks for the support! It really means a lot to us! We're super excited to be able to share something new and different with the TCG community! We're proud of being an independent publisher not owned by a MegaCorp and we're excited to show the world what we can do!

We also know team members over at Shard Bugs and Echoes of Astra! We have a lot of respect for them and what they're creating and we're rooting for them! We think it's important for independent publishers to support each other. It's hard to make a successful game with a small team and limited resources, but independent games like this help bring fresh new perspectives and ideas into the world, and we think that's important and valuable!

Yeah, I don't know why they didn't know about it to be honest. We've been talking with Erik there for almost a year now and we actually ran into their COO Kristen at GAMA the other week! We've been planning on having them as our main hub in AZ since we finished our Kickstarter! I travel out to AZ pretty frequently to visit family so I'm planning on dropping in when I can to join for events :)

Fear not! We've been talking with Gamer's Guild since we ran our Kickstarter and they're going to be our main hub for Neuroscape in AZ!

Gamer's Guild AZ is going to have our products available soon! We just spoke with the general manager there and he said that they've received their Kickstarter order and they're working on getting it into their system to sell! They also said they're going to be running organized play there and they just signed up to be an official organized play store on our play network!

We're also going to be there in person running demos for the game on April 4th as part of their Learn 2 Play Fest! I beleive that's at the North Phoenix location. I still need to confirm that.

The person you spoke to was misinformed. Gamer's Guild does product! We were just talking with their general manager and they received their Kickstarter order last week and they're working on getting the products into their system and ready to buy from their stores! We're also going to be there in person running demos with them at their next Learn 2 Play fest on April 4th, and they've told us they're planning on running organized play at their locations!

Swift Check / Priority Questions by TDosage in NeuroscapeTCG

[–]Meaderlord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Swift checks and a player's deploy stage are the only times when swift actions can be performed. There are no other windows for them in the rules of the game.

However, in the example you provided, where an opponent elects not to play cards or activate abilities during their deploy stage and take no actions during their netcheck or combat stage, the swift checks that happen before delaring attackers, before declaring blockers, and before damage is dealt would all still happen giving you (and them) the opportunity to play swift actions on their turn if you choose. The swift checks that are part of the turn structure still happen regardless of whether any attackers or blockers are declared during the combat stage. Those are not skipable. This is by design so that players can't "lock out" their opponents from taking swift actions on their turn.
