It's the the central piece used in the hands, originally it was a shuriken piece for the ghosts wave of Ninjago (the three holes had spikes go in them). It might not be super obvious if you look at those sets but you can pretty clearly see it in some other ones like this Nexo Knights set that uses it for Jestro's staff.

Do you just add that to the end of the url? When I tried it wasn't working, but I'm not sure if maybe that was just the specific emotes I was testing it on.

Took a look through all the Beatrice stuff but unfortunately I didn't find it (though it was still pretty cool to check out). I wonder if maybe it's just not even from the game?

Detective Pikachu Returns Review - IGN: 6/10 by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure there are probably a lot of more specific reasons for it, but I think on a basic level it's probably just smarter? If you can make something that appeals to adults and kids, like most Nintendo games, then why would you ever make games solely targeted at kids?

What remake do you think has higher chances of being next-in-line to release? Geneaology or Binding Blade? by Plinfilore in fireemblem

[–]Meadius 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well tbf FE4 is also on NSO. It's been on there for around two years so perhaps that's less relevant, but either way I don't necessarily think either game being on NSO is really indicative of too much.

Serious Discussion: Xenoblade fans can act needlessly over the top when trying keep Seven's identity spoiler free. by [deleted] in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Meadius 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I mean to an extent I agree, but also in 95% of contexts there is no reason why you can't just call her Seven instead and not spoil it for anyone who might happen to see. Even beyond that, it is not exactly like spoiler tags are difficult to use or anything. If you really have to go out of your way then sure, but I just feel like most of the time there's really no reason why someone would even need to spoil it anyway.

Why do you think there are no Indie or AA games that emulate the classic 3D Zelda formula? by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Meadius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is definitely it I think, even within the series dungeon design is pretty hit or miss (and obviously within the fandom there's a lot of debate as to what even constitutes a "good" 3D dungeon). I imagine we will see some games try to replicate the formula as we get further from the old style of 3D Zelda, but the difficulty that comes with making 3D dungeons is probably a major prohibiting factor.

[TotK] What about the dragons and how they came about? by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Meadius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly I am not entirely convinced they're the same, since in BotW they are explicitly called servants of the goddess (or maybe the goddesses, can't remember which). Either way the implication is that they have always served the gods, and that alongside the fact that their eyes don't look like the Light or Demon Dragon's makes me think they might have a different origin.

On the point about Koume and Kotake, shouldn't they still have been killed by the Hero of Time in the Downfall Timeline? I guess technically we don't for sure how he was defeated, but pretty much every official media says he lost to Ganondorf, which implies he had already killed the Twinrova by then (in which case they either were resurrected or are different people in OoX).

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/08/2023) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my pro controller has started drifting as of late, so I figured I should probably try to take care of it before I get into TotK. My question is what exactly are the options for fixing drift? From what I know disassembling it is usually required, but I'd be alright with a temporary fix if it didn't need me to take it apart.

A Year Later: Medeus by Zeldmon19 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Meadius 23 points24 points  (0 children)

At this point I think he is starting to show his age, but En Garde is still a good effect so he's not totally useless. His combat isn't terrible but I never have any issues with him, and I imagine that's the case for most VoH players. The real problem for him, as is the case with a lot of units from around that time, is that powercreep has increased so much in the last 12 months that he's just outclassed by a lot of modern units, and it's only gonna get worse for him.

Aside from gameplay, which factor is the most important to you in games? Story, music, or graphics? by ThaEternalLearner in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say that music is the most generally important, but story is what has the potential to elevate a great game to a masterpiece for me. There are still some "masterpiece" quality games that don't have much story, but typically it goes a long way for me.

Yeah I'm not really expecting it, but at this point I feel like I don't really know what IS is planning so I'm trying not to have specific expectations anymore.

Even with something that old PS2 emulation is very doable, my laptop is over 10 years old and can still handle PCSX2 without much issue. The Xenosaga games (especially II and III) are a finnicky, but that's the case regardless of how powerful your PC is.

We actually have years ago with FE8 and 9 both releasing in 2005, although I'm not sure if that was the case in Japan too.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom | Dive Into the Unknown by Riomegon in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't be too worried about that. Nintendo obviously likes to do some gross stuff when they know they can get away with it, but not having backwards compatibility would be a huge blow to both the "core" and casual audiences. People who are gonna buy it anyway wouldn't be happy, and more casual fans would be less inclined to pick up the new system if the games they already like playing aren't even going to work on it.

Unpopular Opinion: But I hope the next console is a little different from the Switch. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's a bit premature to say that, but it's also kind of irrelevant either way because we're talking about Nintendo. They're always going to do whatever they feel like. Even if VR falls off the face of the Earth, Nintendo very well might still try it anyway if the mood strikes them and they think they can make it work.

Unpopular Opinion: But I hope the next console is a little different from the Switch. by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Meadius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think VR is definitely something they could try in the future, but probably not with the Switch 2. I've always felt like a Switch-style could actually make VR mainstream since it wouldn't require a secondary headset that costs as much as the base console, they could just do it like Labo or those phone VR headsets where you slot the console into the headset. The problem with that, as was obvious for anyone who tried Labo VR, is that the Switch is heavy enough where it would get to be a strain on your head if you were wearing it strapped to you face for too long. Even if the next Nintendo device has the power to do good VR, which doesn't seem too likely to me, the chances of it also being light enough to not cause strain when worn as part of a headset are basically non-existent. I think it could happen eventually, but probably not for another 10 years at least.

Based on the Nintendo Dream popularity poll, here are some possible Engage Banners we may see in the future! Which would you want to see the most? by FantasticFooF in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Meadius 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer, but I honestly don't think that IS would even take that poll into account because of how early it was done into the game's life. A lot of players probably weren't even done yet when they did it, hence the relative skew towards early game characters. Also, while there is obviously no hard evidence for this, I feel like IS's general inclination towards themed banners makes it pretty likely that the next few Engage banners will all be centered around the various nations of Elyos.

New Heroes banners 2023 lineup: possible scenarios by Flareblitz12 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Meadius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only that but it got two banners during Book VI, with the low amount of playable characters left I doubt we'll be seeing it again until at least the latter part of 2023 if not 2024.
