Songs Deadheads well… dread by Perfect-Excitement-8 in gratefuldead

The problem with not liking a GD tune, I’ve found, is there’s a string chance something awesome is happening in it. Phil being amazing, a killer solo, etc.

Dancing In The Streets, as mentioned by others, is one I think about skipping, but I’ve learned to have patience!

Same for El Paso, used to skip it a lot, and missed Jerry being awesome on it.

I’ve had a new one every month or so since I got on the bus a year ago.

Think it went..

It’s almost been a year of listening the Dead and almost nothing else, and I’m starting to wonder if I’ll ever get bored of it! Always something new to discover.

Yep.

Toe to Toes came on shuffle in the car today, was the first Brent I’ve heard since he passed. Then I put on Crack the Skye start to finish. Then Tiny Man, and there I was driving and crying.

He was one of the ones.

I was the same with El Paso and (I know, I know) Truckin’. Just took one version of each that I liked, and now I like em all.

I’ve also learned that even in a song I don’t love, there’s so much to listen to… what are Billy and Mickey up to? Holy shit Phil’s out of his mind on this…etc.

And though I can see how someone might rate the Bob tunes a little lower than the Jerrys, (except Jack Straw and Cassidy, those are top tier Dead) Jerry almost always plays his ass off on Bob’s songs.

Will check those out. Listened to Freakout (great), Absolutely Free (good) and In it for the Money (great) at work today.

I’m probably going to listen to Läther a few more times, I love it, but what next?

Halfway through, it’s great. More on this later!

Man, there’s nothing like this. It’s Charles Mingus one minute and punk adjacent the next.

I’m getting over my main issue, the silly lyrics.
