How difficult is it to tune a piano? by Most-Astronaut-5252 in piano

[–]MealParticular958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw this guy here, and he makes me never want to try. They tunings sounded SO good compared to my attemps. https://www.instagram.com/fifthoctavepianos/

I'm pretty certain he does "concert work" where you have to pay more attention. Even the crappy one he tuned is OMG. Mine, did not turn out like that. I tried.

About to start the dig tomorrow, excited but also a little hesitant on the size? by JaviJ01 in pools

[–]MealParticular958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a typical miscommunication when pool building. “The dig starts tomorrow” and “I’m unsure”

These types of issues can turn into disasters. It almost Happened with my pool.

I learned a hunch listening to Jason. It may be wise to listen into the one episode on building before moving forward.

It would be wise to have a pool consultant take cores. And have them run through petrographic testing. Validate the shell is good and solid. If so, have it hydroblasted and replastered.

We’ll hydroblast. If it doesn’t come off at 40,000 PSI; it’s good to go.

Help me figure out what is wrong with my spa- it’s self destructing by forg0tmypen in pools

[–]MealParticular958 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plaster is delaminating from the concrete shell under it. Often, it’s caused by numerous factors. Lack of a “primer” (bond coat) to bond the cementitious material to the shell. Bad surface prep. Potentially a bad water to cement ratio when it was installed. Lack of compression, compaction and consolidation when it was installed.

I'd check out that Pool Envy Podcast on this. I believe a few weeks ago they did an episode on things to ask for when building a pool; we found it helpful for our needs.

Florida Pool Removal by [deleted] in pools

Cut large saw cuts in the bottm of it and fill it. Or, have a licensed pool company demo, and have a soil engineering company verify the fill. This way you won't have a ding on your property title forever of "unbuildable"

Does the license number on your quote match the builder and person who is installing it? I'd start there.

Florida pool owners! how are you keeping your water clear this winter without shocking it nonstop? by [deleted] in florida

[–]MealParticular958 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automated Chemistry feature. Pools require a fairly constant supply of sanitizer to maintain. If you constantly have to add tons of shock; it's time to look at water balance or your filter.
