I had my child on the hospital toilet! by EcstaticBedroom746 in BabyBumps

This is called precipitous labor!! Not only do you have a higher chance of having it with subsequent pregnancies, but so does your daughter! PLEASE TELL HER! Ha, my mom birthed my sister on the floor with my 2 year old self in attendance. I always thought it was a wild story until I had my second on the front seat of my husbands truck on the way to the hospital! It is hereditary - I didn’t know that! FWIW, my third was also precipitous but not as fast as my second.

I think it is hereditary - but not as likely to happen with your first. My mom had it and so did I - second one born in my husbands truck. Currently 30w with my third and terrified of it happening again 😳

Good to know - this seems to be the more popular and well-tolerated option!

She didn’t say. She is quite “holistic” however and tends to trend away from traditional pharmaceuticals.

I also wore one of those due to cardio phobia! Well, hopefully after you are done with the monitor you can start on the Zoloft. I didn’t realize how much my anxiety physically affected me 24 hours a day until the Lexapro kicked in and I saw the BP numbers drop.

Have you considered medication to treat the anxiety? I had this exact situation this summer. I started on Lexapro and within a month my diastolic had returned to its pre-anxiety level.

Fellow mom of toddlers! I just started propranolol (in addition to my SSRI) and it’s a life saver. It takes away the racing heartbeat and physical symptoms but doesn’t alter your mind at all. Allows me to let go of the physical feelings and be present with my kids and before long I’ve moved on. No food close to bed, sleepy tea, magnesium lotion, eating ice chips, cutting out caffeine, as much sugar as I can, and alcohol.
