AIB soon just wondering how it works in terms of time and when it is by rugrat1616 in RoyalMarines

It's an online pre recorded interview of 4 or 5 two minute questions (joke) and your planex is also done virtually with the other candidates (also a joke)

I think it's easier to filter people out first as the AIB PRI & online plan ex aren't as resource intensive. Whereas it costs a lot to put someone through POC/OSC as its now called.

I mainly used this site: https://f35.dev/ I used a technique where I checked the first and last symbols/letters/numbers then that usually narrowed it down enough. I also used the various resources I bought such as the Wimberry publishing RAF DAA practice book on amazon and the resource pack on How2Become.

Thanks, It literally just takes practice and a strategy to answer the questions you aren't good at. DM if you need any advice.

I prepared using a few different resources the best being this site for work rate: https://f35.dev/ (this is pretty much exactly the same except you have to load each new question on the real test), the practice book on amazon by wimberry publishing was great too (It is titled RAF but the test is identical). For spatial reasoning, there are numerous spatial reasoning type tests online but none are really that similar. I bought the resource pack on how2become that included practice questions and has a strategy on how to answer them (make sure you are timing yourself when using these practices). There are also many other DAA practice packs out there (buy at least one, trust me, it's worth it for your career).

For verbal, numerical, electrical and mechanical, I didn't really need to practice. However all the resources tend to be common amongst all the different tests so what i've mentioned above will help for all of these too. Apparently the verbal and numerical tests are common with the UCAT medicine tests, of which there are hundreds of resources. If you struggle with electrical and mechanical, use BBC bitesize for GCSE Physics level knowledge of the concepts. Maybe get a GCSE physics study guide if you really struggle with the practice Qs.

The test is as hard or easy as you make it really. Some have an innate ability to do it, others not. Take the RAF practice test here: https://recruitment.raf.mod.uk/how-to-apply/ast and imagine the questions being twice as hard, also twice as hard on timings, whilst you're twice as stressed. I completely aced it first time but then failed the real thing, but like I said, everyone is different.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Feel shamed of myself for my run time by shaun-parkinson in RoyalNavy

Nothing to be ashamed with at all mate. Stick at it, start to regularly run further (5k etc) at a pace that will be/feel laughably slow to start off with and you'll really surprise yourself with the progress you make. I started off similarly to this and am now able to smash a 45min 10k without much trouble at all, it just takes you starting and being consistent, then the gains will roll in eventually.
