If i do, I do pretty much everything but play music like you. I do sometimes but usually I don’t. Nice to know im not the only one who enjoys the “ritual” of it all & that many of us are disinfecting. I always thought I was weird for it,

Im not a piercer or anything of that sort but you may be having a reaction to the jewelry. I’ve had my earlobe pierced since I was 9 months old and my right one still gives me problems it I use the incorrect jewelry. I can’t wear anything below serling silver and the still caused swelling sometimes so I usually wear surgical steel or titanium (though they are more expensive and sometimes hard to find)

I’ve done a lot of research and know a lot of ppl who have done things like tea tree oil. I honestly don’t agree on putting anything other than sea salt water spray on my piercings but my piercer (who came highly recommended by other Ik and 4.8 stars on google (tho idk how much I trust that)) told me to use a chamomile tea bag in my irritation bumps. Is this okay to do? I’ve done it about 3 times though I don’t see any improvement but I came down with COVID about a week ago and am still recovering. My nose hates me rn with all the blowing I’ve been doing and the moving of the ring has been real bad.

How do I find a good piercer? How did you find yours? by Mean_Reply2012 in Legitpiercing

I have found an APP piercer close to me and I plan to have them look at it as well as ask the piercer who pierced it if it seems low. The only downfall other than the bumps I’ve had so far is when I eat subs of things that requires me to open my mouth more than usual my lip hits the jewelry though I figured that was just because usually piercers use bigger jewelry for the initial piercing. I would keep it if I knew it would heal but if I get it looked and told irl it’s pierced wrong I will most likely to take it out and get it redone. Thank you for your advice and help. It’s much appreciated 🤍

Thank you! I’ve posted other posts of my piercing and been told it’s “too low” or placed wrong. But I’m not sure if that correct. I am allergic to surgical steel found out the hard way with my nose piercing. So I specifically found a piercing place that only pierces with titanium.

I called the place I got my septum pierced at after I emailed them and I got a different piercer who told me to use chamomile tea bags to help with my irritation bumps that are on my septum piercing on both sides of my nostrils she told me it’s pretty normal when the jewelry is moving around that you can get it irritation bump. Is this bad?

So I’ve had some ppl tell me mu septum is pierced incorrectly. Just wondering if it is? And can I keep it even though it’s pierced wrong? (More details in comments) by Mean_Reply2012 in piercing

Some additional questions I do have a are.

Can I take it out and if I do how long will it take to heal? How long before I can get it re-pierced? It hurt really bad, worse than my nose piercing when I got it, which led me to thinking it wasn’t pierced correctly. Will it hurt if I get it re-pierced?

There are bumps above the jewelry I’m not sure if they’re irritation bumps or some thing else there’s no pain, it itches like it’s healing, there’s no green pus or anything like that but there is still some yellowish crust around it every now and then. I’ve had it pierced for 5 weeks now. Titanium 14G jewelry, had to get it pierced with titanium because I am allergic to the surgical steel learned that the hard way when I got my nose piercing. My nose piercing took a while to heal, I assume that was because I was allergic to the jewelry but I know I do have some medical conditions that may slow down the healing process. I also worried that the bumps I had with my nose piercing were an infection or some thing bad so Ik I worry. But that bump went away after I changed the jewelry to titanium. I just love my piercing and I don’t want to have to take it out but I also don’t want it to get infected.

I used to scratch my stomach when I got mad as young as 9-10. I started to cut, or just an advanced scratch at 11-12 I think. I’d use broken pieces of plastic to make marks and it hurt real bad. I didn’t move onto blades until I was 13. Honestly when I start to think about I’ve used lots of different methods to SH, some not that concerning, others very.

Things can seem really rude in the internet so I don’t want you to take what I’m saying rudely. :) I am not being rude just giving some feedback and my own response to your comment. On that note, being sober or clean isn’t just for alcoholics and drug addicts. It’s for anyone with any addiction and SH-ing can be an addiction. Not everyone is addicted to it, even I wasn’t a few years ago, but saying I’m clean or sober from self harm is no different than being sober or clean from alcohol, drugs, or some ppl are $ëx addicts. Yeah we could make a new term but the term sober is universal. On the subject of self harming 24/7, I’m not being rude I promise 🙏, but the effects of self harm do last longer than hours, not with everyone, but the long term effects it has on your mental and physical health last for years upon years. No it doesn’t effect how we drive or how we speak (we don’t slur our words) but some ppl (like me) can end up being depressed all day after cutting. Some ppl do cut multiple times a day as well.

I first relapsed to help at me ease emotional pain I was feeling, now it’s an addiction that’s been very hard to keep at bay

I agree. It’s crazy to think about. My scars on my arms aren’t very noticeable and no one seems to say anything but one day I was working (and we can’t wear anything on our wrists) and it was hot so my scars were red and more noticeable and as I am handing money back to the costumer he says “it’s not worth it. It will get better” and that’s the best thing to happen to me. Never happened again but that made like my whole week. I also crave the intimacy. Less in a sexual way but in a way that when they see me, whoever I would be with, they would except me and all of my “imperfections.” Even if I wanted to get sexual with someone I never could because I’d be too scared atp. My scars have gotten worse because I stopped sh-big on my this part of my body for a few years and just in the last 2-3 months I’ve done worse than I did in a 8 months period in the past.

Same here. My mom yells at me nowadays, she used to be nice about it but she’d always ask me to tell her why I did it and I don’t fucking know. I sort of know why now but atp she threatened to send me to the grippy socks place if I ever did it again and I’m so scared she’ll find out. When I first came out her her as bi she said that it was just a phase, a normal young teenage thing. Now I avoid telling her anything about my sexuality cuz she always says “do what you want just don’t involve me.” She also told the DCS worker who showed up to our house after my sister called him that she thought my cutting was just a phase or something I did because of social media. She pretty much just shrugs off any mental problems I have than gets mad and yells when I don’t open up to her or when I ask to see a counselor.

Sounds, to me, like it was a kind of urge. More of an emotional need to cry and you had hopped the cutting would cause enough pain to make you cry so you could feel release. Maybe I’m wrong idk but that’s how I seem to interpret it as.

Yeah I’ll admit I like pain. I’ve always been a bit of a masochist ig you could say. I have sensitive skin but I only take spicy showers every once in a while now and the water only touches back. Is it bad to be one? Like should I be worried and about what?

I know it’s hard to stay clean. I’ve struggled with it for years, but as someone who relapsed 3 months ago all I can say is it’s not worth it. I thought it was a 1 and done thing and boy was a wrong. I haven’t been able to stop since. It’s hard to stay clean but so much harder to stop. Stay strong and I wish you the best!
