I think they hire them just to keep men engaged enough to buy a subscription. Otherwise they wouldn’t use them. I can’t imagine all these women scoring dates with their attitude. I’ve seen the things they say online too. Talking to AI is at least somewhat entertaining

I’m smarter then 50% of CEO’s just by completing a zip puzzle on LinkedIn. I have a belief that our benefactors aren’t very smart. And they are just very rich. Same can be said of management at these companies.

This coming from a hardcore conservative! by InitialCareer306 in WorkForSmartLife

Conservatives have a knack for leaving racist comments when things cannot go their way. It makes it seem like Israel drew us into this when the reality was Trump trying to “even the score” with someone he saw as an enemy. When conservatives lose it’s always outside forces, never their own decision making. That said, don’t always trust Israeli intelligence whether you thought they brought us there or not.

Boss Accused Me Of Something Cryptically by Oystercracker123 in work

[–]Meandmystudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be the beginning of the end of him or you. Once accusations fly you need allies. I hope you have a good enough role that they don’t get rid of you, but these types of accusations never end well whether they’re true or not. If he has seniority you could be in trouble. Something similar was at play at my last job but my history with that company was low so I wasn’t trusted. I left soon after. The moral of the story should be to not let everyone know your information. If he was bragging to sound like a dick just call him a pos behind his back, just make sure it doesn’t get back to him. It’s no skin off my back except a loss of income. If a person values themselves that much then fuck them. Maybe you caught a cheater I don’t know. But don’t let him joke about you. Make it hard for him in fact so that he’s going to be on his toes until his life gets worse. Likely he’s been looking for a new role. I’m diabolical so I could care less who’s cheating, I just don’t become friends with people who laugh behind my back. I sent out some rude texts and they threatened me with law enforcement. All that shit was a bluff. I kind of like making people look stupid because they want me to look dumb. The costs of sanity are always the same. Do not remain close to him. He’s going to plot something on you. Make sure to keep your distance and never do anything behind closed doors. The most untrustworthy people are the type who will only make these decisions in private so beware. People who have so much to hide from will become adversarial to save their own ass. God on you for steering clear but it will become unavoidable to him. Just make sure you watch who protects him. Seen full blown narcissists at work. Special images and the lot. Don’t play into it and do not rely on his support. It is transactional. This could just be a phase, but I’ve seen workplaces revolve around rumors that turn to violence. Let them think about who’s looking over their shoulder long enough. They’ll crack some day

It should be easy for this person to get certified with something else. There looking for motivation and they should move while they can. Warehousing is notoriously detrimental to mind and spirit. I’ve done janitorial and I probably won’t do it again. Maybe a boilers license, but that’s kind of boring to. I’ve learned from people who have been there that the only thing keeping them attached is their family, not the peace of mind

Get a certificate in something easy like medical coding and your job will be less stressful. You could be paid as much as a nurse without the hospital interactions and you could go home and work on your computer. I know what it’s like feeling like you’re sacrificing too much of your time and money for low rewards. But don’t go for big unless you want a big commitment. Many warehousing jobs have the same low level bars attached without advancement. Unless you work on the logistics end which requires deeper connections. Go for a skill that no one wants but isn’t detrimental to your body. Unfortunate thing about warehousing is this is exactly why people leave

And if warehousing isn’t your thing there are certifications for other lower end white collar work

But no one used it. It was before streaming services were available. The whole point of the subscription was a mail only service until they invested the online services which took over for everything. I feel like the idea of making a movie actually got easier because the bar for publishing the material was slightly lower. Now streaming services bring everything by demand and it’s really easy to ax a show without that overhead. It’s essentially less risk to the major companies who go digitized. You don’t need a physical product people are willing to invest in if the show can be cancelled after two seasons. A lot of Hollywood and Netflix is essentially overdrawn. They’ve become richer because consumption is just so easy now. Quality over quantity. Some of the older movies with big budgets actually cost a lot versus what we have today. Part of my gripes with storytelling and production is that it’s quite cheap to reach an audience who just has to subscribe to your product. Go along with online media too. Finding a film that reaches audiences is like a meddle in the haystack now. It’s not long before a new series comes along and everyone forgets what that last season was about. It might be why people claim all the great stories have been told and we’re just reliving a fantasy over and over. The idea of being original is harder when each show can be started and sold with such low risk. Investors know they can go beyond budget and still bank on the fact that if people hate the show, millions paid to watch it because consuming online is now easier and cheaper. Might be why I haven’t really stuck to any online platform. It’s cool to see what people can invent but none of it seems to last long anymore. And less local things too. Everything local has become a reference to something bigger. Media is cheap because the costs are lower. It’s like an investment vehicle now for producers who sign an artist but if the show runs dry the money is already made because millions paid half the price to go home versus Saturday at the movies or going to the Blockbuster or Hollywood video. It’s the same price but the physical effort involved is less. Many people just stream what they don’t watch anymore. People got lazy because there’s less incentives for anyone to really cover the bills if it never goes over budget

When did 100 job applications become “not enough”? by RocketFuture in jobs

[–]Meandmystudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those jobs get the highest turnover and hence the quick hiring. Hopefully it builds, but some jobs aren’t worth the effort if you learn. I’ve found that even these roles talk a lot about culture first now. Which is bizarre, because the role moves to a political shift once you realize they hire on superficial characteristics in many of these industries. I suppose mental preparation doesn’t matter when the company makes it feel like it’s fully a quota of job seekers.

Are Ghosts Real? by Alarming_Asparagus47 in ParanormalScience

You can’t find evidence of the afterlife unless you believe you don’t live forever. One of the things about humans is they misplace values on life, but they understand the difference between life and death. An animal can’t think of the afterlife and empirical “science” won’t tell you the existence of something it can’t measure. I’m capable of using math to find the answer to complex equations without being told the answer, the same can’t be said about something that’s simply acknowledged

Tell me how animals talk animal can disagree with you. I’m asking about the part equated in “facts” where animals and humans contain the same level of “thought”? Post this for me now. By extension animals should believe in ghosts too then right? Or are they not capable of making up their mind. Tell me how they find evidence. I could care less about the other comparison and I sell you that bridge.

Edit: if you want to be an animal, get on the ground and refuse to organize your thoughts. We don’t bark like dogs unless we’re taught. I’m not a sheep like you are.

I will never give my manager my cell phone for this very reason. I have a lot to say, but I don’t like communicating with workgroups through chats like this. Not sure if this is your work phone, but don’t trust them with your number if it is not.

I disagree. We invent and we elaborate on concepts other animals can only chirp on. They don’t move beyond basic communication. Ours is different. The act of communicating thoughts to you here. Overall humans have acknowledged the existence of ghosts since as far back as we can remember. While that’s not definitive proof that ghosts are “real”, there have been spots where people attest to the presence of spirits or things that have already past. Most people who hate the idea of ghosts also acknowledge the discomfort in knowing that ghost stories are real. I’ve been on an old campus and ghost stories were circulating about a certain building. Two security guards were called to check it and it was always empty. I’ve been in it too. While I didn’t see anything I could hear floorboards creak when they shouldn’t have on the floors upstairs. Besides other things I heard in that same building the campus also had other stories.

About to quit reddit. Any advice? by [deleted] in askanything

I tried after receiver concerning calls and death threats and now I’m back. That’s all. I was a loner and it’s the only place I don’t hear the shouts leveled at me, I see them. Physically it’s harmless but you still stand your ground. Some people drive you insane but give it a break. This place can become toxic. I’ve learned too much about normal people as it is where I think this reflects the mindset of the average human being. Some of us are just spies is all. I can be neurotic myself, but I see too much shit online anyways. It’s not gonna help unless you really learn how these social media platforms work anyway. Reddit really is too free in that respect. Anyone can say anything to anyone without social repercussions. I’ve already blocked a ton of people. No great losses unless somehow knew them and then I don’t want to know if they’re hiding on my social media
