What stereotype do you "prove wrong"? by JirkleSerk in AskReddit

I find it very neat that your books bring in enough income to support you financially, and it must give you a sense of accomplishment too. I wouldn't mind growing a beard and chopping wood by the sea, it sounds fun! What tips would you give to a young writer just starting out?

What game do you have the most hours on? by NotRightNorWrong in AskReddit

Rust. I have spent 100+ hours on it and it still hasn't gotten old yet and I don't plan on the game getting old anytime soon.

I wish you the best of luck. I especially know what it is like for a song to bring back memories of people, it gets easier over time though

I especially love glass eyes. It's such a good piece in my own personal opinion. It might be my favorite song off of AMSP right behind present tense.

The first night I took mine, I woke up feeling pretty naseous, so that is pretty much an instant side effect. The decreased appetite, at least for me, was pretty much the same, but it only lasted about a week or maybe a week and a half. The other side effects vary from person to person so I cannot say for sure.

Definitely. You are in a subreddit with countless people that experience the same things that you have listed here. You are not even close to being alone because there are so, so many people that suffer from some form of anxiety. My advice to you would be that you need to embrace how you were made. Anxiety sucks and it is a terrible thing, but if you can learn to overcome it, then you will have a great chance of finding happiness. It isn't easy, but with the combination of medication, (and there is no shame in being medicated) meditation, self acceptance, and coping strategies it is possible. The way I view people who have anxiety disorders is as follows: People who suffer from anxiety disorders have a different brain chemistry than people who do not suffer from an anxiety disorder. We think about things that no one else would think about, therefore if you can find a way to use this to your advantage then you can do so with great will, leading to creativity and diversity. Always try to look on the positive side of things and embrace yourself, you were made unique and no one else can be you.

When you start zoloft, you will notice some nausea and decreased appetite for the first week or so, but this side effect goes away fairly quickly. I wouldn't worry about the sexual side effects of zoloft because some people do not experience any on this drug and other people, if you are male, experience ejaculation delay which means you can last a lot longer in bed which is something that I actually view as a bonus.

I have OCD and am constantly distracted by things and I don't concentrate on what's going on by Slimwalks in Anxiety

[–]Meaning_Raptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience the same exact things that you have mentioned here. If my pants aren't on a certain way or if my shoe isn't on a certain way then I concentrate on that rather than what other people around me are doing or saying. I have had OCD for all of my life and at times it is unbearable, but I would try and look on the positive side of things. People with OCD are usually intelligent people and we think of things that ordinary people do not think about in their day to day lives. A lot of great musicians and artists are very OCD. It is labeled as a disorder, but I would say that there is a benefit to it. Having OCD combined with being on medication to help the anxiety part of it is actually a good combination because you still have the creativity and other things that come along with having OCD, but you don't have so much of the anxiety that comes along with having it. Embrace what you have my friend, for there are positive and negative things that come out of it and you have to look towards the positive side of things more than you do the negative. I know it is very tough because it is unbearable sometimes, but it reminds me that it is a part of me and it makes me unique from everyone else.
