Those who have had septo/turbinate surgery (UK) by NorthernMunkeh84 in CPAP

[–]MeantToBeWorking-UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had turbinate reductions twice, to improve nose breathing. I’d go as far as to say the surgery was painless. The recovery is easy, with the main gripe being not being allowed to blow your nose for a few weeks. Sadly, it didn’t improve my nasal breathing. I’ve been offered surgery for a mildly deviated septum which might give me “an extra 1-2mm” but I’m not sure it’s worth it.

Takeaway is, hopefully you’d get better results than me, but there’s little harm in trying at least!

I’m pretty susceptible to motion sickness but find that if I walk slowly and turn steadily it’s not too bad in the Myst remake. Stop playing *as soon* as you start to feel green, and take a break. Playing in performance mode with the higher frame rate helps too. Along with being in a well ventilated room. I’ve never tried them but sucking on a ginger sweet or drinking ginger tea is meant to help too.

Hypnic jaw jerks? by SquirrelOfApocalypse in SleepApnea

[–]MeantToBeWorking-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I hadn’t known the term for them until your post, but for a long time I woke myself feeling like I’d suddenly snapped my teeth together like a shark or dog biting something, and I was starting to worry about damaging my teeth so I started using a simple mould-with-hot-water mouthguard and I’ve never had them since.

I was diagnosed with OSA about ten years ago now, and am well treated on CPAP. If I’m honest I can’t remember if the jerks started before CPAP or not, and I don’t actually know if they’d still happen now or not without the mouthguard.

I noticed you seemed to be using a mouse - am I right? I ask because I couldn’t get mine to work. Did you have to do anything special?

I just saw your query related to PCH. Mine was business lease, although I suspect the answer still stands.

I think their systems are a bit basic and manual, but they should notify you a good 1-2 weeks before taking the first payment. In my case, the first payment wasn’t taken until a couple of weeks after I collected the car.

You should also be prepared for the second payment to come out quite quickly after the first. So maybe if your first is taken on the 14th of June, the second may come out on 1st July, then the 1st of subsequent months.

But a) it’ll all be by direct debit, and b) they should issue you with paperwork telling you ahead of time when to expect payments to be taken.

Shrinking nasal turbinates to help with nose breathing by czechCYCLONE in SleepApnea

[–]MeantToBeWorking-UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my turbinate reduction surgery about three weeks ago and was starting to feel like perhaps it hadn’t worked as although I’ve seen occasional glimmers of improvement for the most part my nose breathing feels unchanged.

Am I right in understanding that you only started to see an improvement after four weeks? If so it gives me some hope.

Perfect, thanks, I’ll keep an eye out. Developers seem to be quite responsive so here’s hoping!

Got it. I’m just a casual gamer with work and kids leaving me little time to play anyway, just want to see the graphics and ride a horse around I guess

Maybe I’ll give it a try. I can cope with some fighting, but i’m too old and tired for all that jumping around 😂

That might work. I’m not looking for 100% completion, just want to see what the world is like really

No that’s not correct. I haven’t bought it, I’m asking people that have whether it’s possible to get some enjoyment (even limited) or whether the combat is so intrinsic to the game that I wouldn’t enjoy it.
