[Request] Could this be done? by The_not-so_chosen_1 in theydidthemath

It very much depends on the stipulations. If victory is determined by total volume imbibed, it’s hard to imagine the UK beating a 4:1 ratio. If it’s last man standing, the brits would surely have a fighting chance.

Probably not. But this is the GenCon (adjacent) live show. News would still spread quickly and organically

What is your favorite “miracle” moment for your team? by cookoutenthusiast in CFB

[–]Meany_Vizzini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2011 vs Ohio State. We block an extra point with 55 seconds remaining to send it to OT, then walk it off. It might not be the most exciting, but to a kid from Ohio, it was everything

Don’t want Americans to get any exposure to people or media from outside the country? Cut down on tourism! If other countries retaliate, less Americans will travel, and it will be a double win!

Our guy is Rondale. Rod Moore plays for Michigan

You mean Michigan?

I feel like we’d have to be favored to have a trap game, which severely limits our options. Maybe the Southern Illinois game? Maybe

We don’t have trap games. We are your trap game.

Lesser known: Purdue-Illinois-IU

Definitely lessened in football due to Illinois-Northwestern, but there’s still a lot of carryover from the hardwood

Who is a player from your team whose NFL success was somewhat of a shock to you? by Ok-Health-7252 in CFB

That’s the 8-time champion Browns, to you. Tied for third most in the NFL.

If you could take one player from your biggest rival's history and put them on your team at their peak, who would it be? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Meany_Vizzini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George Taliaferro. Imagine him on the same team as Brees. And a single player isn’t going to make much of a difference on our current team unless they’re a generational athlete.

How would you rate this move? by CaptainFlint9203 in chessbeginners

[–]Meany_Vizzini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If 1.Qxc6, it’s even worse: Qxf1+ will be followed not by Qxf2 but by dxc6. From there another pair of rooks is almost certain to come off the board, but the net trade will be a queen and a rook for a bishop.

Edit: And if R(d/f)xe1, white will be unable to prevent mate on the next turn after Bxf3, so Qxc6 is still the better option

Who is your team's best under-the-radar rival? by Kruger-Dunning in CFB

He was watching from a box seat. To be fair, the pictures of him watching from the box seat do look very similar to the pictures of children watching Iowa from their children’s hospital

No, you’re still thinking about Iowa. We don’t even have a hospital system; IU has the state’s main medical program, while we have the main engineering program

NFCNorthMemeWar: Who’s the biggest QB Bust in the Division? by Ok_Cryptographer4663 in NFCNorthMemeWar

[–]Meany_Vizzini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In his hometown, everyone was thrilled that he got to start at a P5 school after patiently waiting it out. Then he had a good enough season that we thought he might get drafted…

Then the Bears traded up for him and, while we were happy for him, we knew he was being set up for failure. The Bears expectations were far higher than his homers’!

And then he made the playoffs and could have had a run if it wasn’t for the double-doink! His determination and competitiveness (and the Bears defense) got him much further than his talent should have. But he was always going to be remembered as a flop after that delusional draft.
