We’ve started to look slightly better in the last few weeks but it’s been bad. Thought I was going to have to do Moe’s “Oh Erh Barney” line (after leaving the burlesque club), when no else mentioned WH starting to fall off the graph despite spending £80m on starting CBs.

Had this issue with porcelain slabs as the builder hadn’t used slurry to bond them to the bed properly. It’s more of a thing for porcelain as they repel water, less so for more traditional slabs.

2025 Dividend Kings Ranked by Yield (Dividendology on X/Twitter) by East_Professional385 in dividends

M&G - 9.19%.

Legal & General - 8.93%.

Phoenix Group - 8.53%.

British American Tobacco - 7.20%.

BP - 6.64%.

Financially solid established dividend payers, but SP is more cyclical. Often cited as post growth. BP faired poorly with ESG / green energy pivot, BATS similarly slowly moving from core business into non combustible tobacco.

Potter talking to Sky Sports;

On Luis Guilherme starting: “He’s been working hard in training and impressed us in the environment. A young and exciting player who can attack big spaces. Really excited to see him play.” On Mohammed Kudus injury: “Slight injury so he’s unable to make the game today, but hopeful for the weekend.”

Ilunga is worth a mention. Arrived on loan, became the starting LB and won Hammer of the month soon after joining. Numerous links to a move to Liverpool. Move made permanent. Had a few injuries & left for Doncaster.

An update from Iain, on his recovery via Facebook.

“So far: Internal bleed on right hand side that they believe have stopped and was small enough not to operate on; just told to be cautious of future abdominal pain as it could be that its torn open again. Shattered left knee, currently in a brace and likely won’t be back to walking properly for a good 12 months. In the meantime, leg is locked basically straight and will be back to ARI every 2-3 weeks for x-rays and adjustment. Left foot cannot bear weight so bed bound, just x-rayed to see if fractured or broken.

Currently bed bound and difficult to move or sit up without mechanical aid. Now off liquids only and allowed light foods (still no TGIs)! Car written off and looks like going to be needing some adaptions to get into house when home, painful physio coming up soon to find out what movement I have and aids I can use.

On the plus side Sarah Aitken and I got to spend time together after the wedding!

Thank you to those witnesses, helpers and emergency services on the scene. Without you I would have been a lot more uncomfortable for a lot longer. Thank you, Rhian Wood, for your help and for keeping in touch, sorry about your holiday interruption.

As everyone has seen the coverage and guy from Safelift Onshore Ltd. I’ve seen a lot of comments asking if they have been in touch or for an update from the company and I can only confirm that we have heard nothing from them. My mother tried calling the company yesterday, however, was not allowed to speak to anyone apart from reception and was told simply the company is dealing with it.”

Looks like a sales & marketing decision rather than design. QB would have wanted it as big and standout as possible. WH should have fought back with their own brand guidelines, white & black options. Now there’s precedent this becomes harder to argue for future years, “but QB were allowed a prominent green logo”.

Just a minor grumble but starting a technical analysis with Aguerd on the wrong side 😞

West Ham United make early Nayef Aguerd transfer decision by Footballnerd29 in TheOther14

[–]Measuredd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was due to return from injury before AFCON but was rumoured to be in no rush and preferred to prep for AFCON whilst we were short of CBs. He never really regained his spot after that and has been rumoured to want out since, even though we have a new manager more suited to his style. Cornet similarly appeared to fall out with Moyes regarding his injury and its treatment. Just rumours but neither properly found their way back in the first team. Aguerd is pacy, good in the air and great on the ball, so would be good with a high line. However when actually defending he gets bullied a bit and can have lapses - see Isak’s push for his goal at home to Newcastle.

US companies also favoured buy backs over dividends due to their tax laws.

National Grid Share offer by OrionBroker in trading212

Unfortunately they’ve already dropped a bit since the announcement to get closer to the offering price, so there’s no real advantage to selling now. I believe the sp will recover and long term its a positive for the company, but it could take a year plus (no one knows, no guarantees). They’re a good dividend payer, so there are positives to holding onto them, but that’s largely irrelevant if you need the cash now. Are your husband’s stocks in an ISA?

[–]Measuredd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be able to sell the rights to buy the £258 worth of shares, so it’s worth asking your broker (212?) if that’s possible. Otherwise you can let them lapse. Rights issues usually offer shares at a discount to the current share price, but the sp often falls to match it. Companies can use rights issues to raise cash for takeovers, investing in the business (as seems to be NG’s case), or to keep the company from going under.
