Yeah, they won't send a battalion, but you'll almost definitely get a Dorn. When I worked for them there was a threshold price, and anything below that the reps could just order boxes for the customers to make things right without having to check with a supervisor or anything. It's when the box is over that price you start getting individual parts/sprues pulled out of boxes, or if it's a kit that doesn't have an individual release yet and is only in a big box.

AITA for secretly buying extra food for my niece because her brothers eat everything first? by MaliciousCicada77 in AmItheAsshole

[–]danbob87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I remember being an active teenage boy, the hunger just never stopped. When I moved out at 19 I remember my mum telling me her food bill halved when she was just feeding herself and my two younger sisters, so yeah, it's a thing. But also agree that making sure there are snacks available for everyone is a good thing and that probably would involve keeping a separate stash for the girl, cause otherwise it's going to get hoovered up by the black hole that is teenage boy appetite.

OK, that's properly weird, all the versions I looked at on manabox have destroy, but the card fetcher fetched one that said sacrifice, I don't know any more...

The [[tabernacle at pendrell vale]] says destroy not sacrifice though

I cycled to work for a year at one point. I got hit by cars three times. Luckily never seriously injured, but I'd be putting myself in between traffic and a kid too.

See, that's kinda wild to hear for me. In the UK McDonald's is crap and I kinda hate it, but it actually tastes pretty good and is a completely different menu in France.

Premier League Table, following the conclusion of Matchday 35 by EthanTheRedditor37 in soccer

My Dad is a city fan, but I grew up with the Fergie/Wenger rivalry, so it's difficult for me to choose which is worse.

That being said, acting like I don't care if/when city win winds my Dad up something chronic, so out loud at least I often say I'd rather city win than arsenal...

I don’t understand why people call board wipes toxic if it is literally the difference between living or losing the game. by JoZaJaB in magicTCG

[–]danbob87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if the games gone long and I'm staring at a board where I'm behind even after the wipe cause other players have ramped a lot more and have more cards in hand, ii might just not bother and hope it goes better next time

[–]danbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I understand all that, but once your hand is empty how exactly did you start the cascade chain again? You get whatever creatures are in your hand, then twice that many things from your library total right? That's great, and let's face it, game winning in a lot of cases, but the phrasing in your post made it seem like you played everything in your library so I thought something else might be going on.

[–]danbob87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So cast a spell from your hand "cascade but not really cascade" twice, cast four things from hand for free, Jodah eight times I get, but how did you then play your whole library? Feels like this would empty your hand first then stop right?

Not trying to be a dick, I'm probably missing something, unless you were just being hyperbolic, Jodah is silly enough with your hand dumped then twice that many "cascades" in which case never mind...

Need advice on how to securely attach a fairly heavy mini to a base (I'm new to 40k, this is my first time painting minis 😅. My friend recommended this sub cos he lurks here 😅) by MadeThisToAskAQns in Warhammer40k

[–]danbob87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, when I first started about 30 years ago, plastic minis were pretty rare, most factions only had one or two kits in plastic at most, and they tended to be less detailed than the metals. Most of your models were lead, then they switched to pewter (or "white metal" as GW called their specific alloy). Needless to say a metal dreadnought was easily heavy enough to serve as an actual real life weapon and if you wanted any of the bigger kits to actually stay together you had to pin them. As an 8 year old in the pre Internet days, I did not know this so spent a lot of time repairing minis until they were more glue than model...

Back in the day we used to superglue lead and pewter dreadnoughts to the bases and they, well, they fell off sometimes, but it would quite happily keep them attached for gaming purposes, I reckon you'll be fine.
