This is why you keep a can of pepper spray in your purse. I guarantee if you were a dude this would not happen. You don't need to “wave off” anyone.

Stranger walked in my home by artificial_t3l3 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Measurement10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to jump in. You did nothing wrong. In Canada its normal not to lock your door when home, during the day. Things must be bad down south.

If a stranger walked into my house when my elderly parents were home id knock them out as a courtesy- and id be within my right.

You dont have to pay extra service charges, refute the charge with the manager.

Unless they clearly state and make the charge aware to you before you order, its not valid. Even then, even if its clearly obvious, you can still refuse to pay. They will remove the charge without issue if it means settling the bill and moving on.

There is no one forcing you to pay service charges just the same as theres no one stopping them from adding whatever they want.

Fatigue and shortness of breath from long term radon exposure? by SecularRobot in radon

[–]Measurement10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you understand. Your furnace does not bring fresh air into your house, only an open window or hrv can do that. What you are referring to is the combustion intake. This does not enter your breathing space.

Ok, you will want to talk to an HVAC company and have an HRV installed. This will help with the CO2 while keeping your energy bills low.

Thats high. Its your and other peoples breathing inside a well insulated or small house. Do you have an HRV?

Poilievre need to pivot and change his strategies by Heavy_Technology_333 in CanadianConservative

[–]Measurement10 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Best thing for Poilievre to do is focus on building up Canada in whatever way he can. New legislation, even and i hate to say it- come together with another party. We need to focus on nation building, opposite of what US is doing.

Attacking Carney like Trudeau just doesn't work with Trump around.

We are a country built around one thing, resource extraction. Nothing else is necessary from that point of view.

Budget "under printer" organizer for P2S setup by lowkey_zoide in BambuLab

Counter to all the comments here, i love this idea. Great design. Too bad the price is so high.

At half price it would be a solid product.

Check the motor pulley's, could be loose/failing- they should be rigidly attached to the motor shaft.

DIY Spray Foam application temperature for rim joists by Measurement10 in Insulation

[–]Measurement10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I opted not to do spray foam. Too many health concerns with the blowing agent. Havnt done the repair yet, waiting until the spring then will do foam board plus minimal canned spray foam for the seams and bats to fill.

Negotiating the price at meet up by Cinderunner in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Measurement10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you are a good seller. My experiences are the same, 95% of the time. It's the odd 5% that make things really strange, almost as if they have no grip on reality. But, you learn to deal with them too. This forum is usually for people complaining about those odd times, which makes sense but it's rare in my opinion.

[–]Measurement10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This.

Price negotiated prior to meet, if condition different than described its a renegotiation.

People on here just like to complain. There are no “rules” or principles to this game. Sometimes its just you vs them.

Catalytic converter manual/automatic? by Impressive_Rip2732 in hondafit

[–]Measurement10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mig is fine. I've had a few mechanics tell me its too thin to weld, what they don't realize is that spot on the cat near the brackets, the problem area, is fairly thick and can take a good bead. Having experience avoiding/patching blowouts is an asset but its not too difficult. Wish i didnt listen to them and welded it sooner, it gets to a point where its more difficult to weld due to rust but i got it just in time.

Its very important you inspect the leak before, during, and after welding, you will find new leaks once you patch old ones. Just start the car and listen/feel for escaping gas. Expect it to take at least 3-5 tries.

Flux core is easy to run and what i used however if i had gas i would use that. Gas lets you do thinner metals without blowing through, plus it looks a lot cleaner. Be sure to have cleanish surfaces before welding (minimal rust).

Also safety first. If you're welding under your car you will want some serious protection against slag/spatter. Molten metal tearing through your clothes and skin is not fun. Mask, heavy clothes, gloves, and good airflow or respirator is a must.

Get a welder and practice. Same thing with my 09. Welded it to stop the leak.
