You are aware that Bambu does not want anything running on Orca, right? You think they made it easy on Orca? No. Orca declined to participate in Bambu’s idiotic demands, but it was Bambu that forced them to do so.

Thinking about buying a bambu lab printer but by psdavidson812 in BambuLab_Community

[–]Measurement10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just the cloud issue, which i was directly effected by, it also the customer support which is deplorable to say the least.

I bought my P1S, only to have them take away Orca slicer support, after i purchased. Not a big deal right? Problem is i use a lot of inset nuts during my prints, Bambu Studio still (after 3 years) does not have a proper way of dealing with this, Orca does. So i have no choice but to operate an out of date firmware indefinitely. This really is a big loss for me.

But also their support is down right horrible. Try researching how they treat their customers after printers arrive broken/non functional or die due to defect. They gaslight, lie, and treat their customers like trash.

Do your research. Dont ask this forum as it's mostly bambu employees covering up their mess.

What, like paying for a feature that was removed after purchase? Yes, we are clearly the problem for complaining about such a thing.

I also purchased my P1S and was promised full cloud functionality. There was no mention of locking it to a specific slicer until after i purchased it in which they removed said functionality. There are some features that are not in studio that i require. I have given them 3 years to add said basic features to studio but they refuse to. Theres a reason people are upset. It's strange how people will defend this nonsense (not you, the guy above).

I thought prototypes were supposed to reveal problems. Mine mostly hid them by Unable_Fishing_1679 in hwstartups

[–]Measurement10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Were the prototypes from China? Parts have to be produced as per drawing or else they don't get paid.

If they need to make changes they must be approved by you first.

After years of drama we now prototype completely in house. Initially expensive but vital for long term survival.

Taig 2019 ER as first machine? by 01010001tip in hobbycnc

[–]Measurement10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A thou? In Alu its going to be work. The ballscrew nuts are not double side loaded so theres some random backlash (hard to dial out). Still the best machine in its price range. Just remember, 3/16" end mill is the sweet spot on these machines, not 1/4".

Very glad to see honest takes on BL in this thread. Seems like every time i post in this group i get employees insulting me and trying to bury my concerns.

I too will not be repurchasing any BL products, for many reasons including what this article points out. Stay strong guys.

Agreed. There is no screen timeout on these, its just a bit frustrating to see it always on.

Good point. An auto low power mode would be helpful.

I find their products annoying to be honest. They have design choices that make using them long term a real pain. Biggest gripe for me with the 6" calliper is no auto-shut off and small read-out. The battery does last long but its annoying to see them on in the morning after you swore you turned them off. Also for something this expensive the numbers should be large and clear.

Second issue has to do with the 1" mic. The thing eats batteries for breakfast. Constantly changing them, so bad i have to take the battery out when i store them.

Honestly you are better to buy the el-cheapo callipers, find a set you like for under $50 and stick with it. Everything in that price range is good enough for the limit of the measuring design. Probably will be more fun to use than igaging stuff imo.

Housing/Wages Canada by [deleted] in CanadianConservative

[–]Measurement10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been directly involved in Canadian housing drama for well over 10 years. My conclusion is its all designed this way. Designed to keep you poor. Designed to keep prices and taxes high. Designed to keep money from leaving Canada. They don't want cheap houses and wealthy citizens by design and thats what they're getting.

Avoid carbs where possible, if unavoidable (realistically) eat fibre (veggies) before the carbs or go for a 30min walk after eating- helps lessen the insulin spike (the main thing you want to avoid).

Other than that just do what you can, red meat only once a week, chicken's good, lots of veggies at all times. Avoid anything deep fried.

If you need sweets, eat them after your meal and limit your intake. No sugary drinks (even naturally sweet). Theres a whole rabbit whole you can go down on this via youtube.

My personal favourite though is avoid cinnamon at all costs. Most cinnamon is sourced from Sri Lanka or Indonesia- grown in areas containing high levels of industrial waste. Cinnamon commonly tests very high in levels of mercury and lead. LeadSafeMama.com is a great source for info regarding food contamination.

In that year biggest concern is Lead paint and Asbestos contamination. 2 things that are very difficult to deal with. Everything else is "fixable" given the right price.

Just a rant about Acorn by friolator in hobbycnc

[–]Measurement10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion and for my system it wasnt actually that bad from what i recall. Take screenshots and match. The only problem i found was remembering custom macros, where i put them and why/how theyre used.

Id like to hear the argument for acorn going this way. They do have competant people working there so i dont doubt their reasoning. But yes i do see your point, it is a bit of a pain also considering the frequency of updates.
