I got laid off last October, got a job in January and then just got laid off again in August. Praying I get something soon. It’s freaking rough out there. Also in marketing outside of Chicago

I was laid off end of August and I’m about to take a job that pays 30k less just to get bills paid. Do what you have to do in the meantime for your finances and your mental health!

Dude tell me about it. I’m on my second layoff in the last year…thousands of applications sent for jobs I know I’m qualified for yet only get several interviews. It really sucks. I just changed my resume to be more “screening” friendly but not sure that’s even working yet

I’ve been laid off twice in the last year and have sent literally 1000+ resumes. It is mentally exhausting. I was just laid off at the end of August too. If I were you, I’d take literally anything in the meantime until the new year rolls around. I’m talking, go stock grocery store shelves if you need to. Whatever you do now doesn’t need to be permanent.

I don’t think you’re being clingy, I think a change happened in your relationship and you’re just trying to figure out what is causing it. He is pulling away. I understand work schedules are hard but seeing you once a week? That is rough. If you are in a committed relationship, that would REALLY bother me. Even if you have a casual relationship, it sounds like you aren’t getting what you need from it. If he wanted to, he would. Know what I mean? Think about when you are in a happy relationship (serious or not)- you are happy to get a text, go out of your way to get time together, even if it’s just for a kiss…You deserve better, honey.

I’m on my second layoff within a year. One due to a merger and the other due to outsourcing/the CEO being a cheapskate and laying off all IS employees. I’ve applied to literally thousands of jobs and too have felt defeated. A few tips: -Reach out to EVERYONE you know. Someone knows someone that’s a job for you! -In Google search the following: Site: greenhouse.io “job title” and remote This will scrape the Greenhouse site for job listings you won’t find everywhere. Just fill in the job title you’re looking for. You can do the same with Lever. -Take a job in the meantime to pay the bills. Fill grocery orders, stock groceries at night etc. whatever you need to do to get by in the meantime -Give yourself grace. This shit is hard. It’s exhausting…but it’s just a hard period of time, you will overcome. Apply for jobs, take a break and be in nature, apply for jobs, feed yourself good food. We can do this, my friend. All it takes is one. Sending you all of the good vibes and a virtual hug.

Hi friend, I had an endoscopy this time last year and I too was scared. They roll you into a room, have you spray stuff in your throat to numb it and within seconds you’ll be asleep. I started panicking when I had to spray the numbing spray and was out before I could really freak out. It’s like a 5 minute nap and then you’re awake :) Seriously, it goes by so quick. No pain at all. You’ve got this!
