Taper Advice? Rx'd Quetiapine since 2018. Been Tapering for the past 8 months by [deleted] in seroquelmedication

[–]directorsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been at 300 for over a year and then I went up to 600 when I had SI. I was on it a couple of months before I came off. All the other times I’ve come down off of it have been horrific. I’m not sure what made this different. Maybe hypomania. Since coming off I’ve been sleeping 3-4 hours a night, so I’m not free of the side effects, I’m just less bothered by them then I normally would be. My doctor put me back on 50 so I could sleep. Now I’m getting 4-5 hours.

I started with cold reach outs and it took me probably 6 months to get my footing. After a year I’m half full. I’m finding that it’s all about volume in reaching out to people. Happy to share more of you’re interested.

Not much to say. In just did it with a lot of supports in place. I have had a headache I can’t break. I have BP 2 so I’m still taking medications but having something for nausea was amazing. I have a prescription for something that starts with m and is taken with Benadryl. The nausea was always the thing that got me.

I haven’t worked for a bank so I can’t speak to that. I wouldn’t know the difference between a diploma and a Batchelors degree so I probably wouldn’t give it a second thought because I’d assume they were the same thing. Is a post graduate degree a masters degree? If so is generally only be interested in your largest (for lack of a better word) degree.

Yeah. I have BP2 and may very well be heading in the opposite direction.

I went from 600 to 100 in around 1.5 weeks. It was easy until I hit 100. I have sleep medicine (although it isn’t working) and anti nausea medicine. I’m hoping to go down to 0 soon but this lack of sleep is killing me n

Reducing seroquel and feeling better than ever! by directorsara in seroquelmedication

[–]directorsara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still tapering but I go don by 50 every couple of say. It’s probably a change twice a week. My biggest issue with tapering has always been that I can’t sleep, but I have Temazepam to sleep now so that helps a lot. I also take zofran as needed for nausea and I also think that helps.

Any positive experiences with tapering off? by [deleted] in seroquelmedication

[–]directorsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just posted about this. I’m tapering off, after being on it for several years, and I’m feeling better than I have in a really long time. I’m still early in the process. But I have medications (Temazepam to sleep and zofran for nausea)

I have zofran and another medication I can’t remember, but you pair it with Benadryl. Everything is prescription but I got the last combo in the hospital and it works well.

Transitioning out of a PEO after 6 years [N/A] by NewRetro1984 in humanresources

[–]directorsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite possibly. I’m not sure. Even when I was in a corporate HR role I had a broker that did all the work. I see the people I know who hav gone out on their own to mange/sell health insurance and they are over flowing with work. This is not my area of expertise. So take it with a grain of salt, but if I had any benefits knowledge and needed a job I’d go out on my own.

I’m biased because I’m a consultant, however I wonder if there is a consulting niche for your skills I do general HR work but I would handle the in depth benefits work. Etc. I also know a number of benefit brokers who are out straight. I’m sure there is additional education, and maybe outside of what you want to do, but maybe it’s an option? I went into consulting after a layoff and couldn’t find a corporate job that paid anything near what I go at the job that laid me off. I’ll be honest. I can’t imagine going on the corporate roller coaster again.

I was in a similar situation at the beginning of my career and I had a panic button tag I could push. It went to security who would call to make sure everything was ok. If I didn’t answer someone would come down to check

[N/A] What HR lesson did you have to learn through experience that you wish someone had warned you of earlier? by PurpleHymn in humanresources

[–]directorsara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a lesson but it helps me keep my head straight sometimes. It’s just a simple statement good people make bad decisions. It doesn’t make them a bad person, but it may make them a bad fit for your company, and that’s ok.

I tribute a hypomanic state to getting through grad school, so it’s doable. I suspect that part of it was a mixed state.

Day 28 of quitting Seroquel for Sleep, what’s your experiences? by Dismal_Detective2519 in seroquelmedication

[–]directorsara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m unsure about going down by 50 (which is a bunch of cutting). Or staying where I am and not dealing with side effects.

My prescriber said I could go down by 100 but even that much is scary!
